Way too much into it. Like I've said before, I am positive the writers have changed the story line from the original season. Clues that seem that they will lead somewhere just end. This is because the writers are still writing this show as we speak, its no a movie that is written and complete where you can try to figure out whats going on and will be definitively right or wrong. This show could still go in any direction.

It also seems like this show is getting dumbed down with Jack's character so I wouldn't expect then to throw in the symbolism of the knot and expect their audience to catch on to the time and space continuem.

Considering all the little easter eggs that they leave throughout this show in every single episode, I don't really think it's possible to read too much into anything at this point. The producers choose all the names, and numbers, and visual imagry on this show very carefully because they know that the massive fanbase of the show will spend each week studying it all to death.

And they've also stated in their podcasts that they do have a finite story arc crafted for the show and they do know how it's going to end. Whether or not you believe them is one thing, but given the number of loose ends that have already been tied up this season, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. I wavered on that notion during season 2, but they're actually paying off a number of loose ends that I thought would never get solved in this season (the cable on the beach, Paulo going to the bathroom at the Pearl station, etc).

Also, with regard to movies being "written and complete," it's worth noting that the writers on Casablanca were working about three days ahead of the production staff as the scenes were filmed. So that method can work too.

Yes but in Casablanca when the viewer sat down to watch it, it was aleready complete. Lost can be changed at a whim. And I am sure it will be. When the show is over and the last episode airs, I will go back and review what inconsistencies there were and hopefully I don't find any, but I don't think that that will be the case.

As of right now, while there are many inconsistencies that I don't think will be tied down, the writers still have the opportunity to back pedal and get back on track. For example those 2 people who were just buried alive. We all know they were written in to give the writers more story lines to extend the number of episodes, and take place of people like Anna Lou Chia-Pet, Libby, and Echo who left the show for various reasons, but the public didn't embrace them so they were killed off in basically a "filler" episode.

You might be right. But I actually think it's the opposite of what you said. I think the producers/directors/writers have a good idea of the major easter eggs they'll put in each show. But something like one frame of a scene where she's tying a knot is something that's unplanned and the fans dissect each and every frame, LOOKING for something that's not really there.

Why would they emphasize her tying the knot then? They clearly spent a good 5 seconds watching Juliet tie that knot. Most everything that is shown on Lost is symbolic, what would make the knot any different?

              Exactly.

They wouldn't have ended the show with that image, fading into it, and all of that if it was meant to be nothing.

They should have ended the show with a closeup of her rack symbolising that Jack is a giant boob.

I also can't believe there are only five ep's left in Season 3, it's flown by.

With a strong ending, I think Season 3 can be the best one so far.

I don't see how you guys spend so much energy analyzing every single detail each week and trying to figure it all out. I know some of you consider that the fun part but I personally find it a much more enjoyable viewing experience just to kick back and get lost in LOST and just let the show carry me from episode to episode.

GREAT episode last night! A lot of questions, a lot of answers, and the ending...WOW! Really psyched to see if Juliet will examine Sun and whether we'll find out who the father of her baby is (shouldn't she be showing now?).

I just chuckle though since my wife's reaction says it all. We watch 'LOST' on DVR, skip the commercials, pause, discuss, and all that. We watch the ending, and while we were both entertaining ideas of Juliet being innocent and kind, after the end my wife just blurts out "that f-ing *****!". Now she doesn't often curse, but I was rolling.

This show is STILL amazing, and like Skerik I think the writer's know what they are doing. I think we'll still see resolution to the Libby/Hurley mental hospital deal, find out where Michael and Walt arrived to (the world outside WAS looking for Flight 815 so their existence would be newsworthy), and I think Penny and Desmond are the key to everything, she was seemingly the only "real world" person who cares and was looking for someone on the island.

Last episode when Hurley found Nikki's tv show script and he describe the plot about a big boss man and you didn't know his identity until the 4th season. I'm thinking we get to meet Jacob in the 4th season and could be someone that we've met on the show already.

They always put clues into everything and I think its fun to figure out and try to "TIE" thing together. As far as Juliette tying the knot my guess is that things are starting to come together.

We should post the lyrics of any song that comes on the show as they seem to always relate to someone's situation on the island.

I think the odds of Michael and Walt escaping back to civilization are zero. Recall Desmond trying to get out in his boat and being unable to claiming that he was "stuck in a bloody snowglobe." Secondly, with all the secrecy surrounding the islands location (ex. not telling Juliet where it was and tranquilizing her for the trip), do you think Ben would really risk all of that and let Michael possibly blow that all up.

Personally, I think if Harold Perrineau decides to sign a new contract, they'll bring him back to the island unable to escape just like Desmond, and if he doesn't, it'll be assumed he died out at sea.

But didn't Ben give him a perfect coordinate to get off the island? I'm guessing the explosion to the hatch probably screwed it up and that'll be why Michael comes back, but I always thought Ben gave him the directions to get out of the "snow globe".
