Want to see something more weird about those polar bear screencaps?

    Here you go.

    AND

The images are reversed. The lettering in the picture is backwards. The painting goes from Desmond's left to his right. He ends up sitting on different chairs.

Now, I realize that flipping images is sometimes done in post production, but seems like a risky move to make with a show like Lost.

Anybody else also catch on to how saving Charlie also saves Claire's life?

If Charlie was going to die trying to save Claire in the water, then Claire would have died too, right?

If Charlie gets hit by lightning then Claire definitely dies in the water.

If Claire dies then Aaron must be raised by another mother. I remember a certain "fortune teller" warning her that danger surrounds the baby, so she must raise the child on her own.

Desmond is becoming extremely important to the plot.

Very good point, YP. Hadn't even thought of that.

I'm not so sure about a missing block of time. I think that after Desmond takes the bat in the head at the pub he is transported right to the Island. That's because I noticed some items that I am pretty sure were from the pub right there with him, like the bicycle. And wasn't he still smarting from the blow?

Not necessarily. Just b/c Charlie "died" saving Claire doesn't mean someone else didn't save Claire afterwards. The only person that we know dies at all is Charlie.

If i recall from the episode, it was ~2 years between Desmond's interview with Daddy Whitmore and his race around the world. I don't remember if it was Daddy Whitmore or the jewelry lady that said the next race wasn't for another 2 years. Am I going crazy? I need to watch this episode again.

Regardless, Yankee's idea about a big chunk of time is correct.

Remember, between last night's episode and the "current" time, Desmond still has to end up in jail and meet up with Jack at the stadium.

Re: ***LOST Official Season 3 Discussion**** (Contains West Coast spoilers)

                    - One of the 5 best episodes in Lost History.

Too bad it was also the lowest rated new episode in Lost history. The new 10 pm time slot hasn't been friendly. After last weeks amazing episode, I can't believe so many people decided to skip this weeks episode.

                    - Nice to hear Mama Cass again. It would have been funny if someone in the background was choking on a ham sandwich during the song.

                    - I love finding all the little Easter Eggs such as the polar bear on the wall, lost related ads on the soccer field, the lyrics to Wonderall, etc... I think the red shoe might have had a Dharma logo on it.

                    - Great job by set design team to transform Hawaii into London. The jewerly store is the same spot as Locke's office.

                    - I sure hope Desmond's "flashback/fast foward" wasn't just a dream. If he really can time travel I don't understand why Charlie didn't recognize him. I hope the next Desmond flashback focuses on the fact the Island appeared to be discovered by those Scientists and Penny.

                    - Next weeks Flashback will be about Jack and the following week is about Hurley. Bai Ling guest stars next week and Cheech Marin will play Hurley's Dad. Oh yeah Sung Hi Lee will also be a guest star 2 weeks from now.

                    - For the 24 fans, Penny's Dad was VP Jim Prescott in Season 2.

                    - Here's something to chew on, Desmond's full name is Desmond David Hume

Remember when Jack met desmond in the stadium, I thought desmond said he enlisted he was formerly in the british armed forces. Also, it may be a situation where desmond trys to get back with penny, and she says "No". Then he tries to win her back by entering the race.

I dont think this is a case of time travel as it is case of desmond being able to see the future.

Last nights episode was his flashback remember.

And Charlie isn't reliving anything. Charlie wouldn't know about the island. Desmond is the only one who got sent back in time, that we know of.

Was he or are they playing with our minds?

We only saw a bit of his life. We can't say for sure that he really woke up after getting hit in the head with the bat.

I'm going to assume that we'll have more Desmond flashbacks and one will take place after he is hit in the head. Depending on how different things are then, we'll know for sure if he changed his path. (We can compare difference, if the writers do it on purpose, when he meets Libby for the boat).
