Well I got my MBP, about a month ago and I'm still loving it. Never going back to PC. I'm sure there is a whole bunch of cool stuff I haven't gotten or figured out yet. So if y'all have any tips or cool software let me know.

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
Well for me I know I'm pretty much interested in sports and weather, but if there something good I will check it out.
Just want to know if there are any cool widgets or software or maybe some cool things that come standard with it that maybe I might not know about.Comment

Re: Apple Mac Lovers
I've probably posted much earlier in this thread but ah well...
I was a pretty high level PC user in terms of knowing the ins and outs of them and being able to build them from scratch etc and enjoy upgrading every 6 or so months but when my last PC died and I bought a 20" iMac, I never looked back.
These things are amazing, beautiful, simple and fun. There is simply no need to ever use Windows again or worry about upgrading as often.
No viruses, very few crashes and the fact that Apple only release a few configs each year means they always optimize each unit and their OS in general (which runs on 512mb of ram btw, making 2GB on an Apple equal to 4GB on Windows) is so well built that in a couple of years our current Macs will not be slow and need upgrading.
I'm yet to run into a situation where I can't find a certain program or type of program on Mac and in a lot of cases, actually find one's that run better than similar Windows programs. Basic video and image editing is smoother, general word processing and internet apps are too, everything just... works. It's as simple as that.
It's like when I first used Opera and Firefox on dialup instead of IE and thought I was in super quick internet browser speed heaven, but now for the complete personal computer experience.
Everyone needs a Mac.Comment

Macbooks
First off I'm a mac noob. Bought a macbook pro today after realizing the sony vaio I bought did not come close to the advertised battery life. I always hear how great macbooks are for students, the compactness and great battery life. The latter 2 are certainly true, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to truly multi task on this machine.
I have the ability to open numerous applications with one click, but I have yet to figure out how to have 2 instances of firefox side by side. If I need to work with information from multiple PDF files I seem to be SOL because it will only let me have 1 open at a time.
Please some knowledgeable person tell me I'm just a total noob and that I can do what I need for it to do.Comment

Re: Macbooks
For a second Firefox window, have Firefox open and click File>New Window and you're set.
You should be able to open multiple PDFs without issue... open one, then open the next one... I'm not sure where your issue is coming from in that regard. I've got two different PDFs open in Preview right now.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? No one can seem to kill the right one.Comment
