did you read World War Z? I saw it in the store today and thought about getting, but I'd like to hear some feedback first.

I picked up I Am Legend the book but will probably wait a couple of weeks to start it. I also got Grisham's "Playing for Pizza" and want to read that first.

in the movie, what were the giant plastic bags that draped over entire buildings? Did people try to protect themselves inside buildings as a little community from the disease before the zombies tore through it and ate them? Were those buildings quarantines of already infected people?

how fast does the virus work? Like when Sam got bit and shortly after became a zombie. But remember in one of the flashbacks when they show the woman who's crying and her eyes are red and her tear is red, I mean, is it slower on humans or did the virus work faster as time went on? And why didn't the Army throw that bitch in quarantine anyway, she was clearly on the fast-track to zombieland.

and what was up with the Army dudes anyway? in the flashback scenes when they're manning the gates or whatever and not all of them had masks on, why? They know the disease is airborne do they just not care or what?

sure did...its a good book its not just a central story line where its just happening in the States..the book is done in a style of a documentary where the survivors are interviewed to talk about the great panic (hah! love that) and its spans the globe on how each country was affected by the zombie outbreak, so its multiple mini stories on how the survivors escaped and survived

its an interesting read how Israel, Russia, and N. Korea handled the zombie plague

i read awhile back that Brad Pitt picked up the rights to the book, i hope its stays true to its documentary style if it ever makes it to the theaters

Wow, another good movie. The ending wasn't that bad in my opinion compared to what you guys have stated. In my opinion the ending was quite good as well as the rest of the film.

However there was one scene that just was unbelievable and just could not be explained by me, my wife, my brother and several friends of mine who saw the film. It almost ruined the movie for me. The "rescue" (people who saw the movie will know what I mean) in my opinion was impossible. There is no way in the world a rescue like that could be achieved, no WAY! The Terminator armed to the teeth or the T1000 couldn't pull of that rescue. That was such a stretch, I wanted to stop watching the movie right there.

Another part that made me scratch my head was

when the Alpha male sent in the 3 mutated dogs after him and Sam. Why didn't he join in on the kill, the shade was there. The dogs were fine, he and a host of other mutants could have gone right after him and finished him off for good.

maybe the alpha male still had some human traits to him and wanted to see Will get torn to shreds so he could just sit back and enjoy the carnage...a sadistic mutant

More than likely it'll be another 20 million dollar check for another big budget movie.

Well he's going to make money, his company produced it and he probably got a big check just for being in the movie.

No, it's because infected dogs can hunt in dusk and infected humans can't. When Will Smith is looting that one apartment during the day, you can see a flyer that says so. It's a cheap way to rationalize that scene, but maybe it's in the book.

speaking of flyers anyone see the Batman/Superman movie ad? i also read the scroll at the bottom in the very beginning and its said the Giants were swept through the season by the Pats...i thought to myself well this future might actually happen!

I'll tell you why that happened in your spoiler. I didn't notice it until my second viewing of the movie.

In a magazine on either on Will's desk or on the television, can't remember where exactly, it said that Dogs come out at Dusk. I didn't know what it meant until later on. The dogs for some reason can go out at Dusk, unlike the regular "Dark Seekers." The "Dark Seekers" need it to be completely dark outside to go out or they burn. The mutated dogs can go out as Dusk, and at the time of which Will was crawling back to his car, it was Dusk. The alpha couldn't go out yet because it wasn't dark enough, thats why he sent the dogs.

Saw the movie earlier today. I had to sit through this whole thread to see what other people were thinking. Man, some people on these boards really get "it" while others.........just don't. On the real though, for those who think that it's mindless and subhuman to just slam your head against things, you have to realize that the dark walkers had a constant adrenaline rush. Adrenaline causes you to not feel pain or feel pain minutely. I'm very interested in reading the book. Clearly, very interested in reading that.

I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good bit of entertainment. 9/10 only because of the ending. Other than that, it was pretty solid.

Yeah, that thing turned its head.............I think they would have looked much cooler like that than CGI.

Finally got around to seeing the movie last night - very entertaining. My girl was jumping through half the movie. Very interesting reading the various theories regarding the movie also

I really liked this movie... until the last thirty minutes or so, which IMO, were SO bad, they ruined the entire movie--- monumentally disappointing, as I was really into it until then.

I kind of feel the same way. I don't completely dislike the movie, I just feel like my expectations came up way short and they cut my legs out from underneath me. I honestly felt they could have added another hour to the movie or so, it seemed too short.
