Do you have the same problem as I do with the CDN version of Sin City? That buzzing, static like sound that frequently happens when some is talking. It's pissing me off beyond belief since the bass and dynamic frequency as well s stunning PQ is otherwise excellent.

If you guys are talking about the DTS-MA soundtrack that's not listed on the case then it is there it's just not listed.

Finally got around to seeing Death Race on blu-ray. Dumb plot yes, but in terms of PQ and AQ....WOW. That was an aggressive audio track. Had to go and check on my subwoofer afterwards.

PSA: Best Buy has Boondock Saints for $12.99 and free shipping as well as the T2: Skynet Edition for $14.99 ....both on blu ray. I just ordered Boondock Saints.

          Silly question...

Am I better off using Component Cables or the DVI to HDMI converter?

Either way, should be near identical picture quality. What are you using for audio?

Well I don't have a Blu-Ray player yet, I'm just wondering because people say HDMI is the best way to go, but my TV doesn't have an HDMI outlet, but a DVI, and Components which I currently use for my 360.

In theory HDMI, DVI, and component should be nearly equal in picture quality. The biggest difference is that HDMI carries both digital audio and video...the other 2 only do video. Furthermore, HDMI is the only avenue capable of carrying the high definition, lossless audio. And just for curb appeal, HDMI does everything in 1 cable....less messy setup.

The next closest thing is digital audio via optical cable. A clear improvement over the standard Dolby Digital.

And how would one set up something like that? What would that cable connect to on my TV?

Do you have a surround system? One that has HDMI?

Nope, just the TV. There isn't an outlet on the back of the TV that I could connect that into?

No. There is no magical way of making TV speakers sound any better without involving a separate audio system. You could always get a HTIB or Sound bar/sub package that has HDMI input. Then you'd simply need a DVI to HDMI adaptor with the DVI end going to the tv and HDMI end going to the system. Then a 2nd HDMI cord going from PS3 to the audio system.

Otherwise, DVI to HDMI adaptor to connect the PS3 to the tv for video and standard RCA cables to connect the audio (just leaving the yellow unplugged).

                          I don't have a PS3, I got a 360

Same thing if your 360 has HDMI. If not, component cables is next best option. If your tv has an optical input use that or RCA cables for audio.

Correct me if Im wrong but I thought there were two other differences between HDMI vs component.....

                              1. You cant obtain 1080p resolution with only component cables.

                              2. To be able to upconvert your SD dvd's you also have to have HDMI as there is some patent that wont allow for upconversion through component.

Am I wrong about these things?
