Game, this is a show that I recommend that you watch from the first season in sequence or else you will be even more lost (no pun intended).

Where do you guys usually buy BluRays from? I'm looking to get in the game and was looking for some cheap options. Checking out the Avs Forums and see some people selling on there. What about you guys?

Half.com is the place for great deals on Blu-Rays, if you like to wait for them to ship it to you.

I could have sworn I posted on here, but I guess that it didn't send.

Anyway, what I said earlier was that I'm not much of an online shopper as is, and when I am I avoid any used items or things that aren't from first party sites (I also avoid eBay, etc.). It's just a personal choice, nothing against the sites and it's not out of lack of trust or anything like that.

That being said, I normally purchase from retail stores, preferably Best Buy. Normally I'll price-match from Walmart's site or wherever I can find the cheapest price around. So unless you can find something cheaper at Amazon, in terms of new purchases, Walmart normally seems like the lowest price around. However, Amazon normally has some bunched deals that you can take advantage of, so always be on the lookout for those.

EDIT: I've never shopped on Half.com like the above poster suggested, so I can't speak on behalf of that site. However, the name speaks volumes in itself.

I've bought most of mine from Amazon.com and eBay.com.

Hey guys. I have a Magnavox 50" DLP Projection HDTV, and while Blu Ray's look crazy good on it, I have to wonder if it's calibrated for best performance. Can anyone recommend me some settings to bring out the best in my tv? I know it costs a ton to have it professionally done, and i'd rather save the money, so if anyone can help me out, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Did some searching & couldn't find any settings for your TV. Your next best bet is purchase a Calibration Disc such as DVE & do it yourself

How simple is it to use these video and audio calibration discs and what retail stores can you get them from and for how much.

The DVE Calibration Disc is somewhat easy to use. Mind you it is NOT a substitute for a Professional Calibration but it will get you a BASIC Calibration for your TV:

I just really do not understand the fascination of buying DVD's and Blu-Ray's. Renting a movie costs about $5 at the most, and blu-rays cost usually around $20, so do you all watch all these movies 4+ times?

Let me put it this way. Do you listen to CD's more than once or watch reruns of your favorite shows. There are some movies I have watched dozens of times. A great comedy has infinite replay value.

I don't know about the rest but I do. Especially good special features I watch over and over.

I've seen the Zodiac VFX special feature about 9 times already. Granite its only 15 mintues but some good info in it.

But I also work in the industry so I'm guessing not everyone is obsessed as me lol.

                                I think that's a pretty bad comparison.
