I've seen every season but 2 twice, with 3/4 each getting 3 views and about half of season 5 getting 3.

Why don't you Baltimore people like 5? For me, the entire Omar/Marlo storyline was awesome - but I don't know if there's some unrealistic part of season 5 that I'm missing. I like Marlo and Marlo's crew (Chris, Snoop, Cheese, Michael) more than I liked Avon's, which is a big thing to say, I know. Something about them was more entertaining to me.

Haha, I'm not surprised at that reaction at all.

I don't even know what it is, either. Avon and Stringer were awesome, Wee-Bay was up there as well, but I think I liked the Marlo crew better for...

...see, I don't even know why I feel that way. Maybe I'll blame it on season two splitting the great scenes with Avon/Stringer and company in seasons one and three.

All I know is I think I'm going to use my week off this week to re-watch the entire series from end-to-end and see if my opinions change.

Was this the complete series collection pack? If so, worst packaging for a dvd set ever. It's a disgrace how the collector edition is crap. I find it disrespectful to the greatest show of all time.

I was so hoping it was like The Sopranos complete series or even Six Feet Under at least. I love how the dvd sets were for season's 1-3.

I am through about 8 episodes. Pretty good so far. Was the show meant to be watched in 16x9 or 4x3? The DVDs from netflix are widescreen, but I watched 2 episodes from another source while waiting on a DVD and it was in 4x3. I personally liked it in 4x3 better. I love the gritty, non-flashy style of the show.

ollie, it was shot in 4x3. Simon has said many times he wanted a old time gritty feel to the show. I think you will agree he succeeded.

Just finished season 1. Really good, but I guess I will have to finish all the seasons to see why people think it's the greatest thing to ever grace TV.

Season 1 is generally thought of as one of the weaker seasons, simply because everything was just rounding into form. Season 2 is an almost complete departure focus-wise, but it's one of my favorites due to the strong acting and characters.

I thought the acting was pretty bad at first when I watched Season 1, but they really got their stuff together and it turns into the best thing ever in the Season 3-Season 4 period.

But yeah, it's a slow burn and it will grow on you to the point where you'll be having trouble sleeping or be emotionally on-edge if you don't plow through 4 episodes at a time and sort of immerse yourself in it in big chunks starting in late Season 2 probably... Whenever I watch the show, I watch a chunk of 3-4 episodes because it's just so difficult to watch a single one out of context...

The only problem with season 1 is that is is slow through the first 7-10 episodes, but those last 3 of season 1 are as good as any 3 episode stretch save for the *Season 5*

I've got it sitting there and have never watched an episode of either this or Entourage.

Might have to start watching it. Everyone seems to be rave about it as a best show ever candidate.

I dunno, the end of that season was epic and it set the ground for the rest of the show. But the acting was clunky for much of the season as they were figuring out their characters, and it just hadn't gotten into its groove really I don't think. Just a personal preference I guess... I rank them 4 -> 3 -> 5->2->1 Frank Sobotka is one of the best characters in the show, so I have a soft spot for Season 2.
