Damnit. I want to talk The Wire with everyone, but I keep running into spoilers. This and Breaking Bad are the two best shows I've ever seen.

I'm on like episode 3 of Season 4. In that article above, I just read that Bodie dies. Someone also posted the final scene of Stringer getting lit up before I watched season 3. Now I see that Marlo craps on the co op. Great, just great.

Ha yeah man, a lot of this thread was pre-spoiler tag and people aren't always good about using it anyway. Nothing worse than The Wire spoilers... sorry it got ruined for you.

It'll still be basically the best thing you've ever watched by the end... just stay away from every Wire-related site and message board topic until then. People who have watched all of them are also bad to talk to since it's hard to remember what has and hasn't happened by whatever episode you're on... The Wire is one huge story, so it kind of gets smushed together in my mind (and I imagine that's the same for a lot of people).

If you've never been to the East coast, you should avoid Baltimore completely. The city seriously blows.

As someone who was born and rasied in Baltimore, I have to say I'm offended. Can't really say your wrong though. There has never been a better show then the Wire. The thing that makes it so cool for me is I live here so I catch on to little things that people that most people never notice. The show was ridiculously authentic.

As someone who was born and rasied in Baltimore, I have to say I'm offended. Can't really say your wrong though. There has never been a better show then the Wire. The thing that makes it so cool for me is I live here so I catch on to little things that people that most people never notice. The show was ridiculously authentic.

It's always good to hear from people from B-more that talk about the show. It feels more authentic to me than a documentary, and that says so much how great this show is.

I love to hear what things you notice about the show that we would not know about. Any stories that you have that you share with the show? Like certain events or news stories that similar in the show?

No offense, but you can't talk about finished shows on the internet unless you've finished them.

Especially The Wire, and especially IMDB. Stay away from that like it's that crazy girl you banged that one time before you knew she was crazy, but then you learned that girl had more emotional problems than a psych ward.

It's just little things like Baltimore club music playing in the background, the way certain characters talk, especially Snoop. I pass the rim shop that Marlo and crew meet at everyday coming home from work on North Ave. Only similar events I can think of now is how the character, Tommy Carcetti, mirrors or former mayor Martin O'Malley. You can look up Little Melvin Williams too. He plays the deacon on the show. He was a real life drug kingpin in Baltimore and brought a lot of heroin into the city.
