It also took me 5 seasons to realize Waylon was ****ing Steve Earle. The cover of the theme song in the 5th season kind of made me realize that was the reason Waylon can't act worth ****.

"Copperhead Road" Steve Earle? I never knew that either... then, again I never knew what Steve Earle looked like.

I finally finished season 5 (and the series) for the first time. Season 3 still remains my favorite season, but the "second half" of the series is probably better overall since it has a lot more working gears going at the same time.

I'm still processing the base of season 5 which is probably the only thing I ever really disliked about the series. Jimmy and the whole set up just felt out of step with the rest of the show and a bit outlandish like something I would expect to see on an FX show instead of the last season of the most "grounded" TV series.

Not to say season 5 wasn't great because it was and even watching the storyline unfold was pretty great. Watching the game continue and all those damn cameos just felt like a nice ribbon and one of the better ways to tie up a series (apart from Six Feet Under).

I was also expecting Jimmy to die every second of the last two or three episodes.

The Jimmy serial killer bit is the biggest knock on the series. Totally hated that and absolutely loved the series.

The Wire's facebook page posted that the HD remasters will be on HBO Signature and HBO Go this month.

I hope they release the blu ray set and give it a nice deserving box, the **** that HBO did last time is the worst packaging I ever seen and its embarrassing to the greatest show of all time.

Finally I can watch this show... I couldn't stand the 4:3 ratio during the first season and stopped watching. It just really bothered me and made it look very low budget

Read that the Blu Ray versions will be out by the summer and digital versions in January.

Starting December 26 at noon on HBO there will be a marathon of the HD remastered Wire.
