Great show, I thought season 4 and 5 were the best.

Watched seasons 1-3, and then took a break for a while (a long enough break to watch the entire Game of Thrones series)

Fired up season 4 last night. First thing I said, about 5-10 minutes into the episode.

Its crazy how fast the ball gets rolling after episode 3 of season 1. Once McNulty and McDaniels settle their beef and align loyalties **** just gets going.

          Plus, Omar helps, too.

Re: Ok im late I know, The Wire

I'm going to have to watch this series again 5-6 years later lol...

I have a feeling that I'm going to feel alot differently about some characters than I did when the show was on the air.

For instance, I really respected Marlo but looking back on it, I feel like he was the "true south" of the show....just a truly bad person. Chris, Snoop, Avon, Wee-Bey, even Stringer had some redeeming qualities about them but I can't think of one thing about Marlo that was ever positive. Even when he gave out gifts to children, it was purely for selfish reasons. He is that person you tend to meet who will step on anybody and everybody to get ahead.

On the other end, I feel like I'm going to have a soft spot for Bodie and Colvin. They were just always trying to do what they felt was right....no matter how bad it seemed.

Re: Ok im late I know, The Wire

Marlo is one the most bad *** characters I've seen in a TV Series or Movies.

I still feel sorry for that Security Guard as my man was just doing his job. Marlo ain't had to do him like that, lol.

What are Snoop's redeeming qualities? I felt she was just a hired killer than had no remorse/didn't care what she was doing.

Loyalty. She was loyal to Chris and Marlo no matter what.

Was Walon an actual drug user or something? I still can't get over his acting

They were doing these on the radio and there was a lot of Sopranos and Breaking Bad mash ups, but I think a Wire/Breaking Bad matchup would be better... can incorporate the relationship between the different police departments as well as a bigger story around WW bringing "blue" to Baltimore.

I read the corner and it was good. I have homicide too but I haven't gotten around to it.

Did you watch the miniseries, too?

Trying to decide between the two books.

                              Simon's got another mini-series coming.

Yea, miniseries was good, just so depressing. A lot of similar stuff from The Wire but without the humor and lighter moments to balance it out. Worth watching once though.
