Some of these Wire actors have made their rounds to The Walking Dead.

Yeah, one of my favorites, Cutty (Tyresse on TWD) is one of them.

Carver(Gabriel) is my favorite. I think Randy made an appearance on FTWD.

Not sure about "good gig" because HBO was notorious for underpaying, but yeah they definitely recycled actors like crazy. I wonder if they had contracts that tied them to doing multiple shows (before even knowing the details).

Nope... not before and not since. I've got other friends and family on the show that I do know though (Smalltimore).

Seriously though, I've got two friends who have basically been extras (non-speaking roles, couple of episodes).

My cousin was one of the kids in the group from Season 4. He's actually trying to turn it into a career so hopefully you'll see him in more later.

Doesn't look like it unless they are under something other than a series.

Ok im late I know, The Wire

Started this back up. Finished it sometime late last year or early this year.

Going through a series for the second time, you pick up SO much. References to characters who later become regulars make sense now and I can match names to faces immediately.

Just a couple of episodes in to S1, but knowing what happens to Michael B Jordan's character towards the end of it and seeing him off his game as a hopper and then be interested in how to play chess over checkers, it makes so much sense. I forgot how "soft" D was too.

I said how much I liked S2, but the original cast and characters, which come back for S3-5, is so compelling I can see why S2 is almost like a pit stop on the way to the destination.

Watching Young Marlo in S3 and then seeing him pretty much entrenched in the storyline makes me forget how much of a ruthless MFer he was, man.

The scene in S3 with Herc and Carver meet up with him outside and he's looking at them like they're not even there and then the scene where he and Chris basically tell Bodie to either push their product or get off the corner so HE can take it are just 2 examples of what I mean.

Lot of that is a credit to Jamie Hector. He was a theater actor before that role and he was amazing on camera.

His first scene on the show when Bubs and Johnny hit is boys car. "Either do it or don't...." Delivered with ice cold malice.

He was ice cold but a 100% badass. One of the most chilling scenes featured an off camera death and an "in-house" burial.
