Well, it was a reasonable price back then. HBO DVDs were outrageously expensive.

Wow that was awhile ago! That post is still true 12 years later.

Those dvd box sets are the best. Sadly mine all got beat up from people borrowing them and the complete box set is total trash. Especially compared to my Sopranos and Six Feet Under sets.

You know I have never bought a Funko Pop but if they ever made The Wire, I would get them all. I can imagine a McNulty/Bunk one with a fridge with a bullet hole in it or an Omar one with a shotty and box of Cheerios.

Finished Season 1 and am like 75% done with 2:

Season 1:

Spoiler

- I swear I thought D'Angelo was going to be a snitch as soon as I saw him wearing a turtleneck in the first episode. Stringer was wearing one later, which got me off the trail, but I was right after all! Ended up taking the years, slightly less hate.

- I've seen so many gifs refencing the show I feel like I've seen half of it... But it occurred to me I had only seen one gif of Michael B Jordan shaking his head, and realized he's gotta die young. The scene itself was great, Bodie is my guy.

- When Wee-Bey took D to his house to show him how to feed the fish and he thought he was getting killed, nailed it.

- The gif I hadn't seen before, the best one, is Avon strolling past Lt Davis giving him the Mutombo finger wag, that was amazing.

Season 2:

Spoiler

- **** the Sobotkas.

- Stringer doing this man D'Angelo dirty. Get him killed and take his girl? Cold blooded. I see where String is coming from, man has a cursed name, gotta get him out of your circle. Pretty soon he's recording your conversations on his phone and "accidentally" leaking them smh, can't be trusted.

Wild seeing all of these actors so much younger in stuff I see now. Obviously, Michael B Jordan, but I just saw Bodie in The Good Wife as a drug dealer's henchmen. Wendell Pierce is everywhere. Idris is killing me with his accent. This man saw "inelastic product" on the script and went right back to London. Show is amazing though.

I found David Simon's blog and saw all his other shows, I'll probably do them after this. I'm itching to restart the Sopranos too, but noticed a lot of these people are coming from Oz. Is that worth watching?

D'Angelo was a screw up the entire time. They took him out of the high rises and put him down in the projects.

He was basically forced to do what he was doing by his mom, but he wasn't built for that. You could see the weakness from the jump.

Opposed to Wee Bay's son, Mom was forcing him to do it too, but he luckily got out due to a cops help nonetheless.

There are so many parallels in the show its crazy.

Season 2 had important plots but man it wasnt exciting.... Wasnt the patrol cop chick hooking up with mcnulty?

That D'Angelo-Namond comparison is awesome, I almost always try to link him with Bunk lol.

I know a lot of people didn't like season 2,but it's one of my favorites.Linking it up with the gangs in Baltimore and crime was genius.

Not spoiler worthy, but it's amazing how many shows have characters from the Wire. It's fun to think, O, so this is where they are now after the Wire😂
