Omar and Brother Mouzone's little discussion in the alley pointing their guns at each other was good stuff too. Omar may not be as polished as Brother Mouzone, but he knew his weapon's ability well. Their eventual mutual respect was well done.

I just got done the episode before the S3 finale. I'm so glad I've rewatched this, because I completely missed where Stringer sold out Avon to Colvin and Avon sold out Stringer to Brother Mouzone.

After my first watch, I felt like Stringer kind of got killed off suddenly. But after this rewatch, you could see his deterioration and it happened exactly when it should've. His relationship was so tense with Avon over the final 5 or so episodes of S3. Two completely different minds operating completely differently. The rooftop scene at the Harbor was a perfect swan song for those two.

Let the record say, Avon was right and Stringer was extremely naïve. String was a dude that got promoted one spot too high. Outside of killing De'Angelo, every decision he made in S2 and S3 turned out to be wrong.


String is that friend that read one little social conscious book and now he's wearing a dashiki and in your ear constantly talking about the "cause".

I remember the scene but I don't remember any reference to Avon Barksdale's childhood boxing photo as the cop's only clue to what he looked like. Cutty had mentioned a Golden Gloves picture of Avon when he tried to get a donation for his boxing club.

Lester found the boxing poster after Greggs said that Avon used to Box when he was younger. I think it was either the 3rd or 4th episode when that happened.

I'm always happy when I see a Wire character in tv shows and movies. Who would have thought Wallace would be a big time movie star.

I knew Idris Elba would make it big, he took over every scene he was in on The Wire.
