Hard for me to order 1, 3, and 4 but the 4th and 5th ranked respectively are seasons 5 and 2.

Oh yeah DieHard, this is worth a read too:

David Simon Q&A on the show. It was written about 5 years ago but still worth a read:

This interview with "The Wire" creator David Simon was conducted over two different days shortly before the 9th episode of the final season aired. (But after I had already seen the series finale.) We discuss several characters' final fates in...

              I haven't done a re-watch in a couple of years, but for me it's

              3 > 4 > 1 = 2 >>>>> 5.

5 was okay overall but compared to the other seasons I hated it.

Finished Season 3 last night. Once Stringer told Avon about D’Angelo, I knew I was binging the rest of the season.

Seasons 1 and 3 were excellent. Season 2 finished strong but took awhile for me to get into. I’m guessing 4 delves more into Marlo?

Apparently Idris didn't reveal himself until the 4th audition and kept up his American accent throughout. Kind of surprising considering he slips in and out of that BMore accent quite a bit in the first season.

I didn't think he had much of a Bmore Accent at all, I heard that more from Prop Joe and Slim Charles. It didn't take away from his Character, but I was shocked when I heard dude speaking in full British Accent! Lol!

Watching the show back in the day, I always got the vibe that SB's character wasn't originally from Baltimore. He just seemed...different...from everyone else in that crew.

I can't remember, were there lines between him and Avon about growing up together young?

Yeah, don’t they reminisce on some balcony looking over the city like an episode or a few before Bell gets killed? I think at that point they had both sold each other out.

But you’re right, everything about Bell is different. The way he dresses, the way he acts, the way he goes about his business. He wasn’t as street as Avon, but he couldn’t quite be the type of businessmen/politician that Clay Davis and other wealthy men from the show were. Like they knew he came from the gutter, and even though he was getting college educated and seemed generally wired for business, they would never let him become one of them. Of course, when he started to get in that business game he realized it was just as much of a game as the streets were, just in different (and more expensive) ways. He had to bring out the Baltimore street attitude in one dealing from what I remember.
