Yeah, there are a lot of parts where you're just like, "oh damn." Subtle gut punches throughout. It definitely lends itself to multiple listens.

            The Griselda obsession continues...

            Spoiler

In other news, Jay-Z hired Alex Spiro for 21's situation, same dude who repped Thabo against the NYPD.

Curren$y got Wiz to tap into that old flow, 2009 is great, The Life especially.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Last week was probably the best for releases so far this year. New MadGibbs with Flat Tummy Tea (apparently getting another song this week before the major label release of Bandana in April). New Tierra Whack with Only Child.

Offset's album finally out, there are some highlights but all 3 Migos solo albums were pretty mediocre, even if this is my favorite of the 3. Lick, Red Room, After Dark, Legacy are all good, Travis's hook is the best part of the whole album.

Not much stood out on Gunna's album either. The first song stood out. Speed It Up is absolute trash but it was like a slingshot going from that to hearing Thug's voice come in on the next song so it made up for it.

Kehlani came through for her tape, dope Ty Dolla and 6lack features.

Finally found Flygod. "Ayo lord forgive me, for putting 2 in his chimney, his **** flew like a Frisbee" so worth it.

First Griselda drop of the year with Elcamino's Don't Eat the Fruit, Benny, Conway, and Meyhem Lauren features. "Til I'm worth 9 figures like Gwyneth Paltrow, I'm callin' hits with my mouth closed, the trap got our house cold, all white bricks we call it the South Pole"

I read on KTT that he's got features from Push and Black Thought coming up so you already know I'm ready for those.

Mereba on Colors, her new album is dope, JID and 6lack features as she's run with them for a long time, Sandstorm is like the sequel to All Bad on Never Story I never knew I needed...

And last but not least, Q!

The people needed this. Can't wait to see what his album sounds like.

Such a classic and such a sad state we're in with present hip-hop.

I've got a 14 year old girl at my gym who said rap is her favorite type of music. So of course I asked who her favorites were and she said "Juice World and Lil Pump". Being 32 and no longer cool, I have no idea who these guys are. I attempt to listen, straight garbage. I asked her if she likes old-school hip hop and find out she's never even heard of 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z and BARELY knows who Eminem is. Didn't know Dr. Dre is the Dre in Beats By Dre...I was amazed. So now I give her homework of listening to the classics before she comes back the next time. She said she didn't like California Love.

I didn't know how to respond to that. Lol.

I don't really like Tupac's music so I wouldn't hold that against her. Now if she didn't like Juicy...

14 bruh, born in 2005. By the time she was old enough to comprehend rap, Eminem was washed up, and Jay-Z's most mainstream title was Beyonce's husband. Reminds me of some dude at work talking about what happened to R&B. I said like R Kelly and Maxwell R&B? He said, nah like the Temptations and Frankie Beverly. I said if you don't get your old *** outta here. [emoji23]
