Maybe certain people don't have a counterpart, maybe that's why she was chosen for the experiment and it wasn't just random.

Re: Fringe anyone?
Yea, my guess has always been that Peter was part of the same experiments. Walter has just kept it from him. I think Walter either has truly forgotten or chooses to forget because if revealed he subconsciously knows that Peter would never forgive him.
There's going to be a huge reveal on how Peter died. I don't see it as some natural situation that just happens. How different are the alternate world selves? Why should one live longer than the other? I would think a major factor in one dying before the other is by unnatural causes, and for Peter that was a failed experiment.
I'm going to guess that Walter and Bell didn't even care for an alternate reality until they started studying the kids. Once the kids started dropping, they realized they needed to fix it or risk going to jail. They came upon finding a way to enter a believed alternate universe and grabbing the kids from there. Those kids replaced the dead ones, parents didn't know the difference, and the kids were young enough to not realize that anything was really that different.
Yea, this is what I've actually been thinking about since the finale. Out of this world, but I'm going to think out of this world when it's a JJ show."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Fringe anyone?
Considering there are two Peters, there pretty much has to be two Walters.
Upon further thinking, there has to be an Olivia in the other reality because both Broyles and Francis knew her by name, it's only that she didn't see herself because she was actually within her alternate. I'd guess that has something to do with a side effect (or intended benefit of) cortexiphan.Comment

Hmm, I like this."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: Fringe anyone?
After watching this great show the past week on iTunes I wanted to dive into this thread and join the Fringe watching crew! The blue streaks across the screen were finally explained. Check back during the first season and you'll see them a few times. I asked what they could be, but no one either knew or cared. I couldn't find any mention of them in any Fringe board. This isn't the first time that other dimension has opened up for Dunham or at least opened up to see something as those streaks have also been present in Dunham-less scenes.
The big secret about Peter is finally revealed, though there's obviously more to reveal. Once Walter was at the grave site, I thought it was obvious that Peter was the person he was visiting. I didn't understand how it was possible, but once I saw the whole deal with other dimensions, I cold put two and two together.
I'm getting a feeling that this other dimension isn't in the same time frame. I realize that you can do whatever you want with other dimensions, but the WTC, Len Bias MVP, it all just seems like things aren't taking place in the same year or it's a combination of random occurrences that are difficult to connect.
The reason I wanted to comment though was on this post.... I gotta disagree about the blue light sightings... I really think its just plain old camera lens flair. Go watch Star Trek, you see a lot of it as well... I think it's a camera trick Abrams must be big into using lately.
Anyways... great show, and I can't wait till Season 2 starts!http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Fringe anyone?
I with you guys on saying that Peter is from the other reality. The that peter from the currently reality died of some failed test.
And I think Olivia is on both sides and will come across herself at some point.
And that the dude she was shacking up with in season 1 will still be alive in that other reality.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment

I saw Star Trek and I thought the lens flares were annoying, but I have to disagree that they are similar. After watching this great show the past week on iTunes I wanted to dive into this thread and join the Fringe watching crew!

That blue light comes on in certain moments. I'm going to rewatch the season soon and I'll look out for them a bit more to see if I notice a more defined pattern.
They definitely don't show up all the time and they've shown up in situations that a lens flare shouldn't even be possible (at night with low lighting?)."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
