Kind disappointed it's not in the Tuesday slot like it was last year. Loved House on Monday and Fringe on Tuesday. But I like the lineup of Bones followed by Fringe.

I agree, I am a little disappointed in the switch. Loved it on Tuesdays.

I'm just happy that Fringe is on at 9 pm and next week Flash Forward premieres at 8 pm next week. I've decided that's the only new show I'll give a chance. If it sucks then it sucks.

Anyway, It's Always Sunny at 10 pm tonight after Fringe? Excited for this week night.

I've noticed that both Charlie and Penelope (Lost) are in Flash Forward.

But, I think what's most important is that Flash Forward is on ABC, which leads me to believe that they were free to find work so long as it was on the same network airing a show they'll likely be a part of in S6.

Good setup to the rest of the season. Looks like there might be a new cast member and now they have someone from the other reality trying to kill them.

I couldn't find the observer, there were 2 potential sightings, but not sure. In the FBI building walking out when Peter is trying to get through. The other is in the typewriter shop before the guy opens the door, someone with a hat and briefcase walks by, but you can't see his face.

                        Re: Fringe anyone?

So, the Charlie scene was incredibly obvious and I'm assuming this is what the whole hoopla of him not being on the show anymore had to deal with. Either way, I like that new angle and I'm going to look forward to seeing how he behaves around Agent Dunham.

I like that there is a danger that will likely be consistent for most of the season, but we haven't been given the actual arc for the year. We don't know what's happening yet. Yea, we're going to learn what happened to Olivia when she traveled from one dimension to the other and of course there's Charlie, but there's so much more.

Good S2 premiere. I think Fringe needs to continue going down this route - less focus on the individual story and more focus on the entire mythology.

Couldn't find the observer either. It's funny, last season I wasn't looking for him and caught almost every appearance he made. This season I am looking for him and can't find him. I don't think he was in this episode.

Anyway, good opening to the season. Interested to see how every plays out. And lol @ the cow with the birthday hat on.

                              Re: Fringe anyone?

A lot going on this episode that we've just scratched the surface of.

Colonel Broyles? He kisses the one armed bandit? The government guys (I don't recall, Senators?) say they can't afford the money they pay out, exactly how big is this department and where are all the other people that are a part of it? Sure, they fly around a lot and eat up some FBI resources, but as far as we've seen they have 3 employees (Broyles, Dunham and Astrid) and two consultants (Walter and Peter), we've seen nobody else so that should be a blip on the federal radar, never mind a hearing of that magnitude.

Seems like they have abandoned the compartmentalized episode concept, which IMO is a very good decision.

Edit: Oh, the "I can't wait to see her face when she eats my pudding" line and the look on Walter's face was priceless.

                                Re: Fringe anyone?

Ok, while cleaning my kitchen I started thinking about this show and I think I had a bit of a revelation concerning Peter, Walter and the Pattern. Some of this could be me remembering wrong, but here goes. Also, seeing as there are different versions of people they will be designated by number when necissary, 1 being the main univers, 2 being the alternate.

Walter comes off in the show as someone very nonviolent, a little off in the head, but not at all as a bastard. Peter's remembrances of his father are all really negative, saying he was abusive to him and his mother. We know that Peter1 died of an illness in '85 and Walter, some time later, abducted Peter2. The horrible father Peter remembers is actually Walter2. In '91 Walter1 is institutionalized for manslaughter after an accident, around this same time the pattern started (I seem to remember Nina and Broyles saying that the pattern started 17 years ago in season 1). What if Walter2 is who caused the accident in Walter1's lab, he's the one who is doing the Pattern, the one who wrote the ZFT and this is all some twisted revenge plot by an evil Walter2, driven by the abduction of his son? It all started 17 years ago when Walter2 finally found the proper universe.

                                Timeline:

                                1978 Peter is born
                                1985 Peter1 dies of illness
198? Peter2 is abducted (working off assumption it took some time to find and concuct plan)
                                1990? Accident in Walter1's lab
1991 Walter1 institutionalized (time for legal proceedings)
                                1991 The Pattern starts

So that leaves 4-5 years for Walter1 to find Peter2, abduct him, Walter2 to find Walter1 and plan revenge.
