Completely disagree as your statement implies a contradiction. You don't have to believe in something to be offended by it. The fact that is is NOT true is why it IS offensive.

My verdict in a few simple words: It was a pretty cool and enjoyable movie. It didn't have the same magic as the first one did but I still enjoyed watching it.

I kinda didn't like how they just made Mikaela (Megan Fox) more slutty though. It was nice eye-candy but they could've done more with the character. At least (for me anyway) Sam had some progression. Also,

Can't wait to watch it again on IMAX.

Very true. Having two jive-talking gold-teethed robots is offensive if you ask me. And don't try to put me in the category of "america's sad future" and whatnot.

The Megan Fox thing, i actually didn't see it being as bad as people are making it out to be. Yes she was a little more revealing, but it definitely didn't take away from the already poor plot. She was backdrop eye candy

True, that wasn't really explained and they could've used that long-running time explaining something substantial.

It is a part of Transformers lore though if you look it up.

As for the story, people will just agree to disagree. It wasn't great by any means but it was good enough for me.

It's not Michael Bay's fault you connect those two robots with black people. It's your's.

Jeez some people are acting like this movie was supposed to be an oscar worthy drama.

                WTH did you expect?

Not sure how a jive talking gold toothed robot is offensive.

How come people like you instantly think robots like Jazz and the Twins were black? You are the problem with today's world.

That's ridiculous. What of the others throughout the film? The most blatant one to me being the buck-toothed guy in the deli? What was the point of that?

I slightly remember this scene as I saw the movie at midnight. What happened and what stereotype did you instantly think of when you saw this?

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

The sad thing is, if it weren't for them being robots this would even be a big deal. I can't even begin to count how many movies I've seen with steroetypes in them, but not once was a big deal made about any of them.

Who cares if they gave the robots personalities? The movie would be extremely boring if they all acted/sounded the same. I don't hear people complaining about the British accent on the one robot, or the northern accent on the other. People just want something else to complain about. A lot ot the people making a big deal about it are probably also in the group of Michael Bay haters that will attack anything that they think makes his movie look bad.

Sector 7 guy told the dude to do something and he just stood there with his big-*** tooth hanging out of his mouth and S7 yelled at him again. The whole character was ridiculous and obviously not meant for anything other then juvenile laughs. Blaming the audience for "connecting" these characters to stereotypes is beyond ridiculous. Bay clearly had reasons for including these characters and their specific traits in his film to provide cheap, immature and unintelligent laughs. Just because a person can see what stereotype Bay is pushing towards doesn't mean the person actually believes in the stereotype.

It was for the laughs. No one I've talked to that have seen the movie said anything about the so called stereotypes. I think people are just trying to find anything negative about the film to bring it down.

There's plenty of negatives to take it down, people don't need to bring up the "comedic" bits.

I'm not black..or white. But I would LOVE to see a breakdown of the two in regards to whether those two autobots were "racial stereotypes" or not.

I'm Mexican...err..Mexican-American errr..Hispanic/Latino/Chicano whatever the hell you wanna call me. And after awhile it does get old seeing everyone "of us" with a thick accent, or working in the janitorial/landscaping sciences. I have a large family (duh.) and none of us work in either capacity. Not to disrespect either as I don't have the cajones to do either one.

But when I saw "the gold tooth" and the "can't read" parts, it was like aim a little higher, not much...but a little higher than that.
