I don't deny it would be tough, but for me, it's something I'd have to do. We're all programmed different and I'd never think differently of someone either way.

I agree with both of you guys. Both my wife and I have a respectful understanding that if either of us were to ever cheat that the other person is gone with no second chance...........and the papers are on the way. I am sorry, but no matter how much I love my wife I could never for the rest of my life think that some other dude did his business with her. I know my wife thinks vice versa if I cheated on her with another girl.

Scott, I am glad for you that it would not be a problem and you can forgive your wife if it happened. To some this is damaging man and you can never get over it.

I watched this episode last night and I am at a loss with these two. They have such beautiful kids and because of personal differences and direction of their goals has ruined everything. I know many of you said it many times, but the Nissan, Crooked Houses, John Deere tractor, and all the material bull that has come their way was great at the moment.

I think it's quite simple, actually... Remove the kids from the situation. This chick constantly talked down to and insulted her husband, on TV, in front of people. If she's capable of doing that in public, who knows how she treated him in private. He eventually got tired of it. I have no doubt he loves his kids, but he probably had one of those "I'm gonna kill this broad" moments. And she probably kept it up figuring that he wasn't gonna go anywhere. But then he started getting attention from other chicks, and like Chris Rock said, "a man is only as faithful as his options". She treated him like crap, he boated, and got his respect elsewhere. Although I think his pimp hand should have been stronger and he coulda put her in her place a long time ago.

Before I go any further, I really dont understand why some are speculating that Jon abused her based solely on the fact that Kate doesnt want to get into specifics of what happened over the week/weekend, is that really the first thing that came to mind? Anyways, according to Kate she wasnt ready for a divorce and the entire thing was Jon's idea. Here is a link to a video of it all.....

For me, yes Jon getting violent is the first thing that came to mind when she stated that what Jon did "over this past weekend" have left her no choice but to file the divorce paperwork. Then to say it was "appropriate and necessary" to file the paperwork at this specific time seemed like she was upset/scared or playing the sympathy card. Of course, it could just be legalese as Aaron stated and I'm reading too much between the lines (I tend to look at specific words that are used and read into them more than I should at times).

With that said, getting violent doesn't have to mean he was physically abusing her. I meant it in the way that he might have been yelling/screaming in a threatening manner. One can't really blame him for getting mad when he thinks about all the crap he took from her over the years...she really did a number on him (or TLC made it look that way).

EDIT: It appears something did happen this weekend according to CNN...might've been an accident with Aaden.

You know I told my wife they would get a divorces about 2 years ago. She said no they love each other. I said when Jon sees how he is treated by her. He will split. I think I said Dr. Phil would get a Divorces too about 4 years ago. She said never, but I have a feeling that marriage is only going to save his career.

I think that goes back to my post before this. I didn't watch all of the show that night, but there's a clip in that yahoo.com video where Jon says something like "I finally stood up for myself, and I'm proud", that spoke volumes. He had a swagger about him, like he was FREE. Kate probably never imagined he would leave, and now it frightens her. SMH at her trying to play the victim with quotes like "I was hyperventilating" and "I'm not ready to take off my ring".

Re: Any Jon & Kate watchers out there?

Jon took 5 years of abuse on Camera......what about before the show? I'm sure she was the same.

The way Kate acts its no wnder her kids don't have complexes.

Honestly I think Jon began to realize after he was the stay at home dad...how much Kate has spum things into her.

In the beginning it was all about the kids....later it seemed to be all about her.

She beat him down like a cruel owner of a dog. Eventually that dog wont come running when you call it if you beat it enough.

So ofcoarse he's happy....hell I would be too...

The kids will be fine. Shaken and upset at times sure. But they will be fine.

Yeah I saw pictures of him walking out of the doctors office online, didnt seem like a big deal in reality, especially considering they live around so much wooded area not to mention back when they moved into the house they had someone fall and scratch themselves up walking through those same woods, but I guess anything is possible. My personal opinion is that Jon probably told Kate to **** off for Fathers Day as he didnt want to have her around, Kate finally got the hint and decided it was best to end it now instead of trying to fix something that Jon had no interest in fixing himself. Apparently on Fathers Day there were reporters interviewing Jon asking him where Kate was and he seemed to jokingly be saying that he didnt know and didnt care, so thats what kinda fed into my stance on it.

Agree 110%, the guy put up with it until people started pointing it out and he had a chance to see it first hand on TV and he finally saw how ridiculous the entire relationship had begun. Then you have the other women paying him attention and he realized that Kate wasnt his only option. There clearly were things going on behind the scenes as Kate herself mentioned that when she broke the news of the divorce to one of the twins, she basically said that she saw it coming and wasnt surprised.

I think Kate is gonna be pretty screwed relationship wise for a while. No guy who is aware of her personality would want to deal with her AND 8 kids. I think she may get some male gold diggers coming after her and everything she's gonna drain Jon of, but that's it

I hope Jon doesnt get taken to the cleaners over this, and in reality he should be the one getting alimony and such as it was Kate's so called "job" that required Jon to stay home more often with the kids in the first place. If its good enough for the gold digging ladies out there then it sure as hell is good enough for a guy that took at minimum 5 years of pure hell from this woman.

Oh yeah, she is TOTALLY screwed... I think it had finally it her when she was like, "I don't wanna do this by myself". Any dude who either 1) has cable or just TV in general or 2) goes shopping at a supermarket and sees all the tabloids is aware of her attitude, and won't try to do anything more than a smash-and-dash... I won't front, though, when I would see Kate mouthing off and generally treating Jon like crap, I would get a little pants-happy. If anyone qualifies for an ape-smashing, it's her. Then kick her out.

Well we already know she is getting the house as both Jon and Kate have said as much. I really dont see how Kate deserves the money he may have gotten from the show, thats just ridiculous if you ask me as she gets paid from the show as well. In the end it would be easier to have them split their assets, let them each keep the money they are making from the episodes and move on but I wouldnt be surprised if this gets ugly soon.

Well yeah it would be logical for them to just split things, but see how most divorces seem to go, I won't be surprised if Kate and her attorney go for the jugular

I heard she is calling on the main guy from Devil's Advocate to be her lawyer.
