I think they are in it only for the money. Marriage and kids be damned. Anyone know how Jon will fair if a divorce takes place...he has 8 FRICKIN' KIDS! That is why I would stay with that b####. How much child support is that? He'll have to sell his car and use one of his kids skateboards to get to his jobs.
How would this work? The last I heard, he had quit his job so that he could stay home with the kids while Kate went out and handled her media "obligations". Could he still get taken to the cleaners for child support even if he doesn't have a job?

I haven't watched any episodes since all this cheating stuff came out but it was hilarious seeing how much Jon hates his life.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yes. He still is responsible for supporting his kids...job or no job.

That was awkward hour of television lol...crazy.

I don't know why these two just don't make it official and call it quits, it's obvious it's over.

I don't see how the hell anyone could live with Kate.

I agree. But maybe she was not always like that.

Do I expect the show to ever do a 9.8 again? No. Do I even expect it to get a 5 again? No. But if the show drops to the 2-3 range, the company is still happy and still makes alot of money.
So in other words the show was already doing so well that it wont make a difference. If thats the case then it sounds almost as if the show will last as long as Kate wants the show to go for because I dont see any realistic scenerio where TLC pulls the plug.

I think its more that there are a core number of fans who will watch the show no matter what. The ratings from this week were a 1 time thing. They probably will never happen again but the network doesnt need it to happen again. The show was the #1 show on the network before the recent drama. Thats why I laugh when I read people say "This is staged" and "The network set this drama up for ratings". We were already getting great ratings!

This is exactly what the network did not want. They were happy getting great ratings and having a happy little show about 8 kids and their parents.

Well we now know that the 10 million viewers the other night included the Pennsylvania Labor Department.

Re: Any Jon & Kate watchers out there?

Tonight's the night where Jon and Kate are supposed to announce their divorce. Rumor has it they already filed the paperwork this morning.

I'm sure TLC isn't very happy about this. I wonder where they'll turn after this season? Kate + 8? I'm not sure that would work well as Kate is not well liked...although many might still tune in to see the kids grow up.

I still find it amusing that Jon claims he hates the limelight and just wants to be left alone, but is getting all kinds of stuff from being on the show. He's got more money than he'd ever have without the show. He got a custom built bike from OCC a few weeks ago from the show (aren't their bikes worth 90-100K on average?). He's been able to go places and meet people he never could before. He also got to be at home and watch his children grow up for a few years due to the show (while many parent's are working often and only get to spend a few hours at night with their children). One has to wonder if he'll miss it once the money is gone? I also heard on the radio he's been shopping around at some of Trump's high rise hotels in NYC for a place to live...that's not going to come cheap! Not to mention...if he wants privacy, NYC isn't it!

Well TLC already has a new sextuplets show on the way so if a Kate+8 show doesn't generate rating they can throw her back to the hole she crawled out of. Both of them are to blame but i've heard some rather distressing things about Kate and how she's an overbearing BITCH!

He only says that because he got caught with other women. Unfortunately for him he'll still have a few more minutes left of fame but in a few months no one will give a damn about him and he'll be try to find a way back in Kate's good graces just to get back on the gravy train.

She's about to lose the gravy train herself. Once this show is done, she's history. Nobody is gonna want to hear her mouth. Only thing that might benefit them is writing some tell-all book about what happened. That'd be the only thing people want to pay attention to.

I don't even watch the show, and have only been aware of it's existence due to the publicity coverage on "news" blogs like Drudge and Huffington Post.

Still, I'm just worried about the kids. It's bad enough that there are eight (which would tax any family), but raising them without two involved parents? With or without cameras? And a divorce situation to boot, splayed out in tabloids for all to see!?

It's just a sad situation all around, IMO.
