What's kind of ironic to me, didn't they renew their wedding vowels in Hawaii this past season? I assume that was last year? I assume they saw the road they were heading down and were trying to fix it, but it was possibly too late.
I am sure they did that to get a free trip to Hawaii. I think TLC paid for the trip.

They are only 2 years apart, it's not like she's 10 years older or anything.

Wont happen. The show is more popular than it ever was and there is no reason to pull the plug because of a divorce. As for the damage to the kids, thats a load of bs. Do you know how expensive it is to raise 8 kids? Especially when their parents are a housewife and a midlevel IT employee? That family has benefited more than anyone can imagine because of that show. Those kids are going to go through what every kid goes through during a divorce but the show isnt going to cause them more damage.

Yeah, the show has made the kids lives better. I don't think that Jon and Kate would have survived without the show, and I don't think the show caused the divorce.

I think Kate's just a strong personality and over time Jon just can't take it anymore. I know the shows are influenced by editing, but she does seem kinda bitchy and "I want it my way" at times. Divorce is a 2 way street.

I don't think Jon will be out of the kids lives though...interesting how some assume he'll just be deadbeat dad from now on.

How can you say the show did not caused the Divorce? That is what changed Kate. I thought she was like 10 years older than him. 2 is not that big of a difference. I will say one Albert. It is funny how her own family are mad at her. Her dad thinks is ruining the kids. I agree. Money only goes to far. She had been given things before and turned them down because they didn't match. They offered to help her, but they say they only want cash. I don't know it sounds like to me Kate went Holly Wood and John wants to go back to being John, not John and Kate plus 8!

Interesting. I wonder why they have the rating so high according to Albert. Maybe this will save their marriage. I disgagree Albert watching this show as an adult and seeing your mom and dad marriage come apart. That will do some damage to you.

                  LOL, nice job TLC.

They are in the process of their divorce so you are going to air a highlight video of their 10 year marriage. HILARIOUS! LOL

First, my name isnt Albert. Second, Kate was always bossy. From Season 1-5, she has been bossy and labeled a bitch. This was always their dynamic from Day 1. Jon didnt want anymore kids after the twins and the show kept them afloat financially for 6 yrs. Do you honestly think that they would have stayed together trying to raise 8 kids on a mid-level IT employee's salary?

The show isnt going anywhere. This was the tailend of their season and they were scheduled to end the season in 2 weeks. They cut it short because they dont want to show outdated footage with J&K together or cover the divorce. The initial ratings for last nights program were good too. The show isnt going anywhere. Jon cant afford not to do the show. If they end the show, he is going to have to get a job a again and pay child support for 8 kids. Kate cant afford to end it either as its their only source of income.

LOL...why the hell would the kids watch this as adults? Even if they did, they will have 13 yrs to adjust and deal with the divorce before they watch that.

They may watch the show later in life, but the thing is that they lived through this ordeal and at the age the kids are now they are starting to understand what is going on if they don't get a good inkling.

I don't blame Jon for wanting a divorce, but to pay child support for 8 kids he will have to somehow still stay on the show to make money. No mid-level IT job is going to pay enough to support the 8 kids + if he has to give Kate any money in the process.

They make 75,000 a show I am sure John will get some of that. I disagree with you Holbert, but that is cool. If you look at pictures of Kate before the show you can see how she changed. I am not saying is was never not bosy. I think she always have been that, but if my husband said he wants us to quit the show I would quit the show. I have a feeling America will turn on this show. Especially because of the kids. Unless they paint John as some bad guy. Then all the divorce women will join to support Kate.

You wouldn't watch the show as an adult. OK that is cool. I would, it would be a trip to see you on TV and as a kid would be even cooler. I still watch the time I was on Romper room with Miss Nancy. I am sure the kids will like to watch this too, but seeing how their parents marriage started to go hill it might be too much to take for them.

I kind of disagree a bit here because I don't see America turning on the show right away. As once said by Mr. Eric Bischoff "Controversy creates cash and ratings!". I added the ratings in there. LOL! People are curious to find out what happens so they will continue to tune in for another season or as long as the show progresses. For some reason or another, people love drama/theatrics.

The number you quoted isnt even close to what they make an episode. As for her look...everybody looks different when they have more money. Jon got hair plugs. She got plastic surgery and better clothes. Quitting the show wasnt an option with the house they have and 8 kids. Quitting the show would have been financial suicide for the family.

The show is in its 5th season. No one was expecting it to go on forever. So if people turn on the show, that was going to happen anyway. You guys keep making the mistake of comparing this to a network show. The average cable show does under 1.0 in ratings. J&K were pulling in 3.0's before the drama began. The show is doing ratings in the 4's right now. If the show collapses and loses half of its viewers....its still one of the biggest shows on cable.
