I watched District 9 and was pleasantly surprised. When it first started I sort of rolled my eyes but the movie did a good job of capturing the main character's struggles.

I felt the exact same. At first I was wondering what good would come of the movie. I ended up actually liking it a lot.

I went in with low to mild expectations and was really surprised with how much I liked it. What didn't you like?

um, there were parts that were boring. the acting left something to be desired. I dunno, it just never grabbed me and I found myself laughing at parts that weren't supposed to be funny.

Also, why do so many movies have to have a crappy line near the end. Like in Legion:

when Gabriel is about to leave the diner and he hears Dennis Quaid's character flicking the lighter, walks around the counter to see Quaid about to light the place up and Quaid says "sorry, we're out of business." Come on, that's stupid.

Saw Prince of Persia. Have never played the video games so didn't know a lick of the story going in. I thought it was pretty good for what it was. Gemma Arterton who played Princess Tamina was smokin'.

Mystery Team. Big fan of Derrick Comedy and I enjoyed the movie.

Youth in Revolt - Really enjoyed this one too. I know people give Michael Cera crap for only being able to play that one role, but it was funny seeing him try to do something different. I would have opted for more of his alter ego, it was a cool character.

Daybreakers I liked this. The movie went in a direction i didn't expect, but it was a good movie overall.

Watched a couple of teen movies.....Adventureland and The Girl Next Door (2004)

Enjoyed them both, especially Adventureland

Daybreakers I liked this. The movie went in a direction i didn't expect, but it was a good movie overall.

Really liked that one too. Very interesting concept where humans become endangered.

I was "meh" on Daybreakers. The movie just kind of ended, and I didn't like that. I mean there was a climax, but no resolution.

Also, two things:

the one scene where the vampires are chasing Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke's characters in the car chase scene, and the vampires car slides off the tracks, run into some rails and explodes. I LOLed. Why the explosion? What could possibly cause the car to explode in that situation?

Also, when Willem Dafoe's character says "Not as risky as barebacking a $5 whore." that definitely had me rolling.

yeah, the ending kind of annoyed me in that aspect. Not enough to derail my enjoyment, but was still annoying. Also, those spoilers were definitely lol moments.

I think every time I watch 500 Days of Summer, I like it a little more than the last time I watched it. It's making a serious bid at moving up to a high part of my favorite movies list.

Just saw Get Him to The Greek and it was hilarious, a lot better than I expected it to be.

I'm seeing it later on today. I like Russell Brand so it should be pretty good.

Just saw it and thought it was pretty great. I think it was better than the trailers indicated. Brand's Aldous Snow character is hilarious.

Jonah Hill was solid and P. Diddy was surprisingly funny.

Watched a couple of movies today:
Carlito's Way 2: Rise to Power .....not as terrible as the reviews make it out to be. I was entertained the entire time (Puffy is in this one)

Chronicles of Ridddick.... good action flick. The fight at the end was pretty cool.

Taking Lives.... good suspense thriller. And Angelina Jolie is not bad on the eyes. The twist at the end was a pleasant surprise.
