It Might Get Loud - this is simply epic and that's the one feeling I had throughout the whole thing. I cannot imagine having Jimmy Page ask me how to play one of my riffs, I wouldn't be able to talk.

Legion - decent movie. Sort of a cross between Constantine and a zombie movie.

Dennis Quaid was pretty bad in his role though. He's just not believable as a gritty, country dad.

      But overall fairly enjoyable.

I've got that on my instant-que and have been meaning to watch it. Looks very good.

I'm a big fan of both Page and White, so I loved it. The Edge is great too, but White and Page's parts were more interesting to me.

Watch the Chaplin movie he did. I remember being impressed with his acting at the time, but it's been quite a while.

I watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High last night. It was good and funny with a lot of classic scenes, but it didn't really feel very succinct when compared to other similar films (ie: Dazed and Confused).

                Where the Wild Things Are.

Wow, sort of a dark movie. Still watchable for children, sort of reminded me of some kids' movies of the 80's. Kids' movies today are a little too cheesy and light.

At first I wasn't all that into it, but once I got to the end I loved it. Don't go in expecting a Neverending Story or Narnia type deal. You probably won't like the boy, he's no hero, and he's not meant to be. It's not about what he does in the fantasy world, it's about what he learns from it. Once you get that and forget about a Hollywoody saves-the-day story, you can appreciate it for what it is. And I have to admit I got teary eyed at the end.

Oh and the cinematics are breathtaking all the way through. Love the way it was shot. The story had plenty of slow moments but the presentation made up for it.

                  Hitler! (1962)

Not a very good movie at all. Admittedly it's probably the earliest post WWII portrayals of Hitler in film but the movie just comes off badly. There's very little depth to it and the story hits on all the salacius (sp) aspects of Hitler like how he had a mother complex, wanted to control both Geli Raubal and Eva Braun and portrayed him as a guy who could never be personable (which is a bit tricky as Hitler in many biographies even the ones that are extra condemnatory will admit there are times where Hitler can be quite personable) or intimate.

So basically Richard Basehart (You'd know him best for being Wilton Knight in the pilot of the original Knight Rider series) played a one note Adolf Hitler. The movie's preoccupation with the psychoses of Hitler took away the biographical aspects. It seemed as if the film makers wanted their cake and eat it too as tried to fit a lot into an hour and 42 minute film. That being said Basehart did a pretty good job with the material given. He wasn't the most convincing Hitler i've seen (if you look at the mustache it looks like two separate strips of hair put next to each other) but also he let slip some things that Hitler probably never did like a smile of victory when things were going well and being outright emotional (not in the angry vein) over situations. Hitler was a bit more rigid then that.

Nonetheless there were at least two left elbow scenes that make the movie at least worth a gander. The first is when he's out having a picnic with Geli Raubal and it shows that Hitler the private man can be quite different then the monster of course that leads into him exposing his mother issues and need to be possessive over Geli. The scene works well though as the actress that played Geli was perfect. She really matched the youth and innocence that the biographies have painted of her through the years.

The other scene is near the end of the movie where everything is lost and the bunker is close to being captured. Hitler's in his war room wearing glasses, hands trembling and off in a reverie saying he's figured a way to win the war while his generals all say that the armies and batalions that he wants are no longer there as they've all surrendered. It's a good scene showing how Hitler had completely lost it and Basehart did a great job in that scene.

Unfortunately I have to give this movie a 1.5 out of 5. It just doesn't work on many levels.

Watched 'Couples retreat' over the weekend with the Mrs. Nothing too spectacular but it had a few funny moments. Vince Vaugh plays basically the same role every movie.

I saw MacGruber with some friends last night and we all pretty much laughed throughout.

Quite a bit funnier than I was expecting. When I first saw a trailer for it I thought a MacGruber movie was the worst idea ever, but they pulled off a really funny flick, IMO.

I saw Robin Hood a few days ago and it was alright. Maybe the real Robin Hood stories are different than what I've grown up thinking they were about but it had absolutely nothing to do with him stealing from the rich to give to the poor like the trailers made it out to be. It seemed like they are setting up a sequel.

Correct me if i'm wrong but this movie is about Robin Hood BEFORE the famous Robin Hood stories so it makes sense that it isn't really about the whole stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. This does lend itself very well to making a sequel down the line.

Yeah it's about what he was before he became Robin Hood but trailers didn't make it seem like that's what it was about. The scenes from the trailers with King John yelling about how Robin Hood is outlawed and the one with him shooting an arrow into the wanted poster didn't happen until the last 5 minutes of the movie.

I watched the Slammin' Salmon on Friday. It had some funny moments but overall I didn't think it was too great. Seems like Broken Lizard has a habit of making every other movie good:

                              Super Troopers - good
Club Dread - dreadful (see what I did there?)
