I only watch A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. If I watched it now I would get way too excited for Christmas.

Also the more I see of Vera Farmiga the more I like. I think I'm developing a little crush.

It's not a great movie, but I always enjoy it because the little girl is creepy as hell and there's enough camp to be fun, but enough creepiness to be tense.

      The ending is just crazy.

Agreed, also saw her in Orphan like Buckeyes_Doc did. I like that she's never "the same character" like some people seem to be at times. Even the way she delivers her lines are way different based on her role (except Up In the Air and The Departed have some similarities, but of course she has an Irish accent in The Departed).

She's pretty awesome, and I'm positive she can carry a lead role as good as the rest. I would consider her role in Orphan to be a "lead" of sorts, since a lot of what we perceive is somewhat her narrative/take on things. It worked, also. Not the best movie around, but not at the fault of any of the actors, really.

It's best to catch her while she still has some youth, though. Looks like she was discovered a bit later since her career has blossomed a bit more. She's a name I'd like to pursue when looking at movies down the road.

Shes actually from my town, graduated from the high school here. I graduated from another town then moved here, but everyone here knows her/ went to HS with her. She's also a little older than me as well. LOL. I know, I know not the best name drop but I listened to people talk about "Vera Farmiga" for the longest time, and then eventually was like "Oh the girl from the Departed, why didnt you just say that?" Had no idea who "Vera Farmiga" was lol.

She has more of a unique beauty and is a great actress. Didn't realize this was the same women in Up In The Air.

Just watched this as well, usually when a movie can keep me up until 4 am it's pretty good. Liked it a lot actually might be one of my favorites of the year besides Harry Potter, helps that my major is elementary education tho lol.

"Our Idiot Brother" ... more like "Our Idiot Movie". Could not finish.

"11.11.11" --- great spiritual thriller... more raw production. Lead actor looks and acts as if he could be George Clooney's cousin / long lost half-brother.

                      Osmosis Jones

I had to play it for three different class periods the past two days, so now I'm totally exposed to it lol. Overall, it wasn't that bad. The "real life" aspect with Murray and Elliot were over-the-top corny, but it served as okay for the sidetracking moments of this PG-rated film. The cartoon portion contained decent animation, voice acting, soundtrack, a few jokes here and there, and an insane amount of creativity IMO. I've seen worse movies that I would hate to watch three consecutive times.

I'd say it's not any sort of timeless classic, but for being rather original and only given a 6.1 on IMDb, I'd say it's worth a child's viewing at some point, just for the sake of "educational" entertainment. It worked well for the biology class with the amount of tie-ins to the unit they're learning right now.

Saw Immortals the other day. I didn't like it, I thought it was boring. I'm a 300 fan and thought it would at least be ok but the acting and story was just awful.

Fantastic movie. There were a lot of moments where you will begin to cry just from nostalgia. It was like seeing a really good friend for the first time in a long long time.

American Gangster. Put it off for a long while and sorry I did. Man.... very absorbing. Quirky ending, but certainly not a deal breaker.
