OMG that is so true. That whole movie was so gay and I'm sure a lot of folks hated it for it but I thought it was pretty damned funny in a lot of spots. Especially that part where he was at the swingers club, OMFG that was hilarious "Look into my eyes"..

Turned that movie off after about 45 minutes.

I've never really liked Clint as an actor, call me crazy or whatever he just never appealed to me, and I honestly thought this (GT) was one of the most overrated movies I have ever seen. Maybe the second half is significantly better, but the first half bored me so much that I have no interest in ever finishing it.

Pandorum ..... I wanted to like it more.... some parts left me head-scratching. Not confused. Just wondering why they went that direction.

Started watching District 9 ... should I finish it?

Finally watched Star Trek on bluray. Really good movie and I hope they continue with the same actors/director for future movies.

Me too, overall I thought it was good but wasn't a great movie like everyone thinks it is just IMO. I loved the ending, but the first half of the movie sucked.

I was surprised how immersed I became in Taken. Really griping movie. Two other great movies I watched for the first time recently were City of God and The Pianist.

Yeah, I assume the second half of the movie is better...but the first half was so bad that I deleted the movie from my computer and have no interest in ever seeing it again.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

Just finished watching one of the more interesting westerns ever made. (Well actually this movie was remade a bunch of times. I think this was the last remake) The movie is called 3 Godfathers (1948) and is more or less a western take on the Three Wise Men tale from the Bible even going so far as the final destination being New Jerusalem.

Three outlaws on the run discover a dying woman and her baby. They swear to bring the infant to safety across the desert, even at the risk of their own lives
The movie is a hidden gem of famed director John Ford who dedicated the movie in memory to his good friend and mentor Harry Carey who starred in the two silent film versions of the tale. John Wayne stars alongside Harry Carey Jr. and Pedro Armendáriz. I've seen the other two talkie versions of this movie and I have to say it ranks just a touch above the '36 version mainly due to the ending in this one. It's great to see hardened criminals out on the run who suddenly find out that life is more then just robbing banks and that there is a greater purpose to it all.

Harry Carey Jr. does a great job as the not yet jaded and young Abilene Kid. He serves as the conscience for the three men and it's his faith despite unbelievable odds that pushes Wayne's character to carry on when the other two die.

If you're interested in seeing this it'll be shown again on Christmas Eve at 8:15 AM.

I give this film a hearty recommendation even if the religious overtones are laid on a bit too thick for modern audiences 3 1/2 stars out of 5

I saw the Princess and the Frog with my cousin and it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be plus it was the best looking non-Pixar Disney movie I've ever seen.

Paranormal Activity - pretty good. Definitely worth watching and I'd recommend it for a few scares but nothing major like the trailers suggested and not something I'd probably watch again. Ending was meh.

The Invention of Lying - very funny! I love Ricky Gervais and he worked well with Jennifer Garner. She seems well suited to this type of role and comedy. Only gripe really is that he was almost the identical character to the one he played in Ghost Town in terms of how he acted around women and his sarcastic humour. But overall worthwhile!

John Q.-Got if off Netflix because of Denzel and Duvall starring in it. Overall pretty good movie, I could see a parent doing something like John did in real life. Where a lower-class family with little health insurance is told to pay up or your son dies pretty much, I could see a parent being pushed to the edge.

What I didn't like is how John Q's son got his heart transplant the same night all the hostage situation, and he jumped other people on the list lol.
