I really liked this one, thought it was one of Seth Rogen's funnier movies(and i'm a fan of most of his stuff).

Absolutely loved it. Everyone in the cast is stellar in this one. Great mix of comedy and heart. This will be one of those that, once it's on TV, I'll watch it every time I come across it.

Just watched this recently too and I agree. I was cheesing at some of Rogen's parts. I thought Efron would do well but I think Franco's brother really stole the spotlight from him.

Denzel was a straight bad *** in this one. I thought the story was very good. Ending was somewhat predictable, but the action was just too smooth. I'll definitely add to my collection when it hits BD.

The trailer I saw looked like an actual quality production. But yeah, the plot sounds just horrible (ending sounded kind of funny though as I read it).

It was at a mall in San Juan so I had to pick it up. The quality was pretty good. Much better than what I was expecting.

I"m glad to hear solid reviews for The Equalizer. The TV show in the '80s was pretty damn good and I had heard some people complaining when this movie was being made that it wouldn't fit well in today's movie universe.

Anywho, a couple nights ago I watched a 2012 documentary:

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/FkBI-fYQIHE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Koch was made more or less during the last days of former NYC Mayor Ed Koch's life. It was made as a tribute to him but not in a lionizing way as it portrayed Koch's life with warts and all. It's a great thing though that he was alive throughout the filming as he basically got to tell his story in his own words and his friends and colleagues could speak of him in the present tense. The doc does get shortchanged a little on the historical content as it's hard to squeeze what was a very active and controversial reign as mayor into 100 minutes but the broad strokes were definitely painted. The director did take a lot of time to look at Koch's 3rd term in office and his fall from grace.

The portion that's just as, if not moreso important in this documentary focused on his present day life and of how Koch was fighting to keep his name relevant. The blatant use of Koch for the cynical grab of votes by Andrew Cuomo in the 2010 gubernatorial race was pretty tough to watch as you saw Koch shuffling into the NYC Democratic offices where Cuomo's celebration was happening and Koch was pretty much dropped like a hot potato. Cuomo didn't want to see Koch but eventually Koch DID get to see Cuomo....for like a few minutes and behind closed doors rather than at the podium in public.

This documentary took an unflinching look at Koch's failings such as the huge scandal that tarnished his reputation, the closing down of a small but prominent Harlem hospital which he promised he'd keep open during his first term and the feeling from the gay community that he turned his back on them as many perceived Koch himself to be gay. (it's never confirmed or denied by him but I think it's safe to say Koch was a gay man)

Overall, an excellent documentary that might have benefited from 20-30 more minutes of film.
