The Great Wall

I have never understood the hate that this movie gets. I think this is my first time seeing it since it was in theaters. Is it a bit cheesy? Of course. But Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal both put forth solid performances. The world building has some flaws, but it's interesting. The fights are very stylistic, which tracks for a movie like this (even if some of the tactics make no sense). It's a quick hour and a half of entertainment.

Spy Game


It's on Netflix, haven't seen it in years. Robert Redford, Brad Pitt. Tony Scott directing, solid spy movie with lots of back and forth between Redford and Pitt. Still love it.

Equalizer 3 - 9 out of 10. Loved it.

Talk To Me - 6 out of 10. It was okay. The accent turned me off.

I based my viewing of Notting Hill on one of my favorite comedies' (Mom), glowing praise of it. It was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Julia Roberts plays a mega-star version of herself who gets implausibly imbedded in the life of boring Hugh Grant. The whole movie was an awkward mess.

The Burial on Prime with Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx was a really good movie, and based on a true story too. Man I really love this pairing, they should do another movie together!

I watched Ma last weekend. It was a fun watch. Octavia Spencer was really good. I'm not crazy about the ending. I think it's worth watching though. 6.5/10

I'll also bring up Soul which I watched about a month ago and loved it. Of course, I also loved (also made by Pete Docter). 9/10 for both of those for me.

Killers of the Flower Moon (also a bit of a spoiler for The Wolf of Wall Street).

Had to see this right away because I couldn't afford to have this spoiled.

Liked it, certainly more than the other "big releases" of this year (Oppenheimer & Barbie).

So happy to see De Niro playing a true bad guy (just evil) again, willing to put it out there.

Leo was fine and his arc was more fulfilling than his last Scorsese film (Wolf of WS). *Spoilers* An unambiguous piece of ****, unlike his previous piece of **** that plenty of people weren't sure if he was one. And more satisfying, we see him suffer here! *Spoilers*

Funnily enough, most enjoyable Scorsese film since...The Wolf of Wall Street.

Big George Foreman

Love George and lived through his legendary comeback in the 90s. The movie was decent. Nothing really special but like most biopics 2 hours to tell someone’s life story is not much at all.

Obviously you’re gonna rush through major parts of his life and it definitely did. The actors were fine and the guys who played young and old George were solid.

The thought the guy who played Ali was really good actually and the Rumble in the Jungle was good too.

I'm 44 and enjoyed it. The Easter eggs included references to the Matrix and 2001 Space Odyssey among others.
