Interesting. I was wondering how so many Blu rays were being watched. Now realize I live in a little rural town with a movie rental store that only has dvds. Online rental and purchasing is the only way I can watch blu ray.

I think it is crap that Netflix raised their blu ray charge to 4 dollars.

Gamecock, where did you find that LG Bluray deal? I am tired of moving my PS3 around to watch a blu ray.

Sorry for getting OT. I will use the OT as a segway into watching Wolverine. May have to watch it again because I wasn't too impressed with it. I was expecting a lot more. Even watching it on blu ray, the special effects were 90ish imo.

I actually got lucky on the LG BR player. An online website was offering a Sherwood multi-region BR player for $59 shipped. By the time I found out about the deal it was out of stock, but the deal was still up on the website. Took a shot in the dark and ordered one anyway. Got a call 3 days later saying they didn't have anymore Sherwood, but that they were going to be honoring my order by sending the LG BD 370 instead. Needless to say, I was a happy camper.

Good thing I got it, b/c a week later my HDTV and PS3 (only BR player) was stolen.


I got netflix in the hopes of slowing down my blu ray purchases. Yeah, not really happening. I don't buy my blus until they are down to $12-16 so I used redbox and dvdxpress to watch new releases on DVD (not that bad).

Back on topic, going to watch Taken on blu ray tonight.

Last movie watched: The Hangover was like a "Crank'ed" version of Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Mike Tyson's cameo was awesome.

Taken is awesome. I picked that up from AMZ when it was $15 a couple months ago.

Hammer - I've been thinking of starting NetFlix back up again, but probably use it more for documentaries than for movies. I do like the option of being able to stream through my Xbox, though. As far as blu-rays go, I've basically given up on searching for blu-rays in town, especially since Circuit City went out of business. All we have to choose from is the department stores (Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart) and Barnes & Noble. Apart from Wal-Mart's 10 blu-rays (which are matched on AMZ anyway), they're all ridiculously priced. Last time I went into B&N, average blu-ray price as $25, if not more. I have a $25 GC to Wal-Mart and will probably pick up Halloween and see what else that have for 19 and under.

On-topic: I watched Ghostbusters last night. Still great.

I've watched them all except for maybe 10 of them. Gonna be thinning out the collection some by selling on the HDD forums.

I have another 100+ on HD-DVD (Bourne Trilogy, Oceans Trilogy, Fast and the Furious Trilogy, etc) and no plans of going blu with them. Have 2 perfectly functioning HD-DVD players.

^ Looks like you and I have the same taste in movies. Some of them that you have, I have on DVD and am planning on buying them on Blu-ray the instant I can sell my DVD versions of them. Others, like Black Hawk Down, I'm seriously considering blind-buying (I'm surprised I have yet to see that movie actually).

I'll be getting FD with a hopeful quadrilogy pack when FD4 comes out, and I'm going to get Office Space and Death Race on Black Friday, hopefully at a discounted price (among many other movies on my list, including movies like Fight Club, Dodgeball, Equilibrium, etc.).

Yep. I actually used your list as a ouline....only had to delete about 10 before filling in the remainder. I had Dodgeball as part of a comedy 3-pack with Super Troopers and Dude, wheres my car.

Only paid $10 and it wasn't too bad. Trannsiberean is the one that I immediately regretted after the blind buy. Traded it immediately.

G.I Joe: Rise of Cobra, fine movie but the lead of the movie was bland as heck. Its interesting since he was in step up dancing the night away, yet he felt like a cookie cutter bland actor.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince- Good movie, a bit slower than the rest of the movies in the franchise though. The action didn't romp up until the last 20 mins of the movie, then they laid so much on the floor.

Sex Drive. I actually laughed my *** off at this. The usual gross-out humor, but there were some hilarious cameos.

Overall I enjoyed it and never even heard of it before. I was ready to bail if it sucked, but it didn't.

That's true, but the main characters acting was very stale. He brought down the entire movie from a 7 to a 6.8

Yeah the acting was bad, and once the bad guys kept the main guy (Tatum) alive and took him to their secret base or whatever i almost got up then and just left. It wasnt like I had high expectations going to see that movie but i left dissapointed as hell.
