Watched a couple of movies. Observe and Report was decent...has some funny moments. 6.5-7/10

Couples Retreat--Saw this at the movies months ago and just watched it on blu ray. Great transfer, but decent chick/couples flick. Not really any funny moments for me. 6/10

Saw Karate Kid tonight and it was great. The fighting was much better than in the original and you could see Will through Jaden. To all those not wanting to see thin because of some weird loyalty to the first movie, you're really missing out. I grew up on Daniel-san too, and I think you would like this.

That's my opinion, as well. Clooney and Leo are probably my 1a/1b, with Daniel Day as my number three...my personal opinion would round out my top 5 with Pitt and Damon, but I feel like the 4-10 spots switch a lot for me.

Finally got around to seeing Hot tub time machine last. Hilarious! Probably one of if not the most stupid premise for a movie in some time but it was great and I really thought it was worth seeing. A solid 8 from me.

Completely forgot to comment in this thread about this movie...

...Just watched it, Hot Tub Time Machine, for the first time the other day. Hysterical. Everyone on the cast plays their roles perfectly...and it actually had a "surprise" ending for me, mainly because I just wasn't really expecting it.

Two bonehead critics gave Toy Story 3 a negative review which ended the franchise's perfect record at Rotten Tomatoes.

                As it stands now.....
Toy Story 3 - 141 fresh reviews and 2 rotten reviews
Toy Story 2 - 147 fresh reviews and 0 rotten reviews
Toy Story - 70 fresh reviews and 0 rotten reviews

I honestly think the two bozo critics who gave the rotten reviews were just looking to get attention for themselves and draw visitors to their own websites. Toy Story 3 is simply an awesome film.
I have an entire thread dedicated to one of them, his name is Armond White. Well, it was more to RT scores and such in general, but it tended to focus on him.

Yes, he is an attention-seeking critic who everyone expected to give a rotten tomato. It really should not be allowed.

                  Pirate Radio

This is the kind of movie that you would like to see with a bunch of your buddies, given the right mood. A humorous British truth-based flick that focuses more on the characters and their time together (defying their government, all the meanwhile) than the history of classic rock and roll, though it all plays off pretty well.

I guess I don't really know what to say about it otherwise, but it's full of buddy-buddy smiles and the kinds of interaction that you like to see on screen.

One of them was Armond White, who is one of the worst critics around IMO. He agrees with the Tomatometer 52% of the time just to be different. That's an astonishingly low percentage for a popular critic.

The other critic was some arthouse horror guy, so no surprise there.

Ha, looks like Blzer already covered Armond White.

Yeah, Hot Tub Time Machine is hilarious. I saw it when it first went to theaters.

Finally got around to seeing Red Dawn.

It didn't age well. The acting was ship, the script was mostly ship, and actually most of it was ship to me.

you have Swayze, Sheen and Powers Boothe among others and John Milius as director and writer I believe.

I was expecting a good movie. Like I was late to see the Deer Hunter and saw it about 8 years ago while in university and loved it and think it's great.

..This...no. I was thinking it would have helped if I were American, but I highly doubt it. Maybe it was cool for the time, but now it's just bad. There are a few cool moments no doubt, but overall I was very disappointed. Milius Directed Conan the Barbarian, which is easily one of my favourite movies of all time.

Watched Supertroopers for the first time in like 5 years or so. Still funny as hell.

"Just cleaning out the old locker, she stinks like *** but I'll sure miss her... I guess you could say that about all my girls."

"Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners." "You know, Farva, only you can make a dark man blush. And no, we're not doing it."

Just saw Toy Story 3 and it was amazing. I still can't believe that the first one came out when I was 6 and now I'm almost 22 and it's still as entertaining as it was when I was a kid.

Same man. I turn 22 on Monday and I just don't think that my 16 year old sister can understand why a man like me can shed tears for a movie like this. I think the best way that I can explain it is that it was 15 years ago when I saw the first Toy Story, and now that this trilogy has pretty much come full circle, up to the last scene, the generations is really what brings the tear to my eye. I grew up with Andy as the toys stayed with him. I can't say that it will be as emotionally fulfilling to someone who sees all three movies in a week as it would be for people like us who experienced the entire thing solely based on the timing of it all.

Yet at the same time, she still hasn't seen it anyway, but she also laughs at me that I went to a midnight showing of a G-rated animated movie. I just don't think that she gets it. This isn't exactly a children's movie just because it's okay for them to see it, and frankly I felt this movie's undertones warranted a PG rating, but that may just be me. In fact, that was strangely one of the reasons the other negative critic gave this movie a rotten tomato (which makes no sense, take that up with the MPAA, not Pixar).
