Zombieland. I liked Shaun of the Dead better, but then again I like British humor for the most part. But, I thought I was going to walk away, but didn't. Entertaining.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I need to look back at my impressions on the movie, but my other issue was that scene after scene appeared to be nothing more than one-on-one conversations. I'm not sure if these things really stuck out to you at all.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Did you have as much of an issue with the excessive F-bombs as I did? I seriously can't get that out of my head.

Didn't mind the one-on-one dialogue. He was essentially on a one man mission so it was to be expected. I thought it helped the character development.
I wasn't a big fan of the ending though.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
KickAss - So, I watched this a couple times (once while I was working out) and then another just for the hell of it over the weekend. I still love this movie. I think the pacing is really good, never really drags. When I saw in the theater, I thought Dave/KickAss was kind of weak, but the more I watch it the more I pick up on Aaron Johnson's subtle nuances of being a teenager. From the facial expressions to the way he talks, I just find him more interesting each time I watch the film. The stars are still Big Daddy and Hit Girl, but I don't think KickAss is weak at all. Anyway, I still love the cartoony/Tex Avery styled action and violence and comedy. Such a fun movie. I can't wait for the next one.
Sanjuro - This is the "sequel" to Yojimbo (which is what A Fistful of Dollars was a remake of). I really enjoyed this film. Mifune as the ronin is great - he is so fun to watch and the little nuances he throws in for subtle comedic relief is fantastic. It is kind of odd to have watched Clint Eastwood's no name cowboy for years before ever seeing these, but The Ronin is a more fleshed out character than Eastwood's and perhaps even more entertaining to watch.

An Education - Peter Sarsgaard, Alfred Molina, Carey Mulligan. Very good coming of age story and I liked it. If you want a review, go to IMDB.PS: You guys are great.

Date Night: I loved it. I thought it was hilarious throughout. And I feel like Carell and Fey took a halfway decent movie and elevated it by bringing their own small touches and I would assume improvisations to their roles.
Fair Warning: I love everything Tina Fey makes. And that probably tainted my opinion. So, take my loving the movie with a grain of salt.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Centurion 7.2
Movie sort of reminded me a of a cheaper version of Gladiator in a way, well at least the beginning did. It was a decent flick overall, just nothing too special.Comment

The Education of Charlie Banks - Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter, Chris Marquette. Another coming of age movie for me, and again I enjoyed it. The surprising thing for me, after seeing that Fred Durst directed it, was that Fred Durst is a pretty decent director. I had no idea that he had talent.
Daybreakers - Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Sam Neil. Solid vampire flick.
Evening - Claire Daines, Vanessa Redgrave, Patrick Wilson, Meryl Streep. A woman on her deathbed recalls her life's defining moments. Not bad, it's a bit of a chick flick but the acting and story is on point. Has an ensemble cast which includes Natasha Richardson. This was one of her last films.PS: You guys are great.

I agree. I've never been a fan of Vampire movies and with the recent hollywood obssesion with them it is driving me further away, but Daybreakers was a good movie. Definently had an interesting concept.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

I thought it lacked something, not exactly sure what it is but it lacked something. The concept was good but the movie felt sort of short.Comment

Agreed. I recommend it to friends all the time. It was a refreshing take on the weak vampire genre.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Watched 10,000 BC on bluray.
For a movie that seemed to have a decent budget and a director who has been behind some pretty good movies, I was disappointed by the story and even moreso, the terrible acting.
Sure, make a movie in a cheap, beautiful location but don't use cheap local actors.
The CG was good and the picture quality of the bluray was absolutely stunning but the movie was crap.Comment
