    Battle: Los Angeles - 8/10

I enjoyed it for what it was. It gave me 2 hours to turn my brain off and enjoy some action, and in that sense, it delivered. I could have done without some of the overly cliched scenes and plot points, but overall, I had fun.

I liked it as well. There were some scenes that looked like they would give me vertigo if I had watched at the cinema but it was pretty well done and something a little bit different as well. The young girl in the lead role did a great job and as you guys said the music was pretty well done as well.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Had a free weekend of HBO, got to see a couple of movies. I'm not that great at writing essay like reviews on movies.

I love you, Beth Cooper-3/5, The greatness that is Hayden elevates this movie on my scale.

Going the Distance-1/5, It would have been a 0/5 if not for Charlie Day. Justin Long should never be a lead in a movie. Never.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

I actually liked going the distance for what it was. I agree that Long has no business as a lead actor.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Had another little spree of movie watching:

Green Lantern - Liked it enough to not be disappointed I watched it and I hope it gets a sequel because I feel like it'd be a better movie, but this one just came out at the wrong time. With Thor, X-Men, and Captain America around it, all of which are or look better, combined with the fact not many casual people know about Green Lantern or anything and, well, it wasn't going to be good. Ryan Reynolds was good and Blake Lively looked hot.

Super 8 - As I posted in the thread, I liked it but not as much as I had hoped. Rushed ending and a lack of personal connection to the movie hurt it. It's definitely worth a watch for anyone, though, and is a good movie. I just wanted to like it more.

Let Me In - Liked it and would've loved it had I not read the book before. Knowing all of the things they left out and all of that (though, most of them were things I expected to never make it in the American movie) hurt the movie a bit, but it was definitely a good one. Worth a watch, as well.

Paul - Another one that I liked, though I had very, very low expectations going in so that might've helped. Some cheesy "this comedy needs some kind of emotional plot moments" scenes but other than that, my immature side had quite a few laughs.

Your Highness - Highly forgettable, which saddens me. Portman looked good and there were some laughs, but no where near Pineapple Express and just...yeah. Huge letdown from my excitement level after the first trailer.

Limitless - Eh. Don't really have much to say either way on this one. Just another movie.

Have you seen Let The Right One In? I've yet to see the American version or even read the book, but I loved Let The Right One In.

Great, great movie. I still want to see Let Me In, but I have a hard time believing the remake is on the same level.

I never saw Let the Right One In, but I thought Let Me In was beyond spectacular. Definitely ranked within my top five favorite films last year, alongside the likes of Inception and Toy Story 3.

People always hate adaptations of original work because they must compare it to the other, and this doesn't just have to do with quality. This also means, if they didn't maintain the same imagery or symbolism, whatever, it becomes inferior already, which is unfortunate. I've heard the differences between the two films, and I'm just here to say that if you can't appreciate Let Me In as a standalone film to its original counterpart, then I suggest you just avoid it altogether.

World's Greatest Dad starring Robin Williams. This one caught me by surprise as I don't remember it being in theaters. Robin Williams does a great job as usual and the movie tells an excellent story. One of the better dark comedies I've seen recently.

My roommate recommended this to me, but decided to spoil the ending as he explained it. I still want to see it, but I'm turned off by the fact that I didn't get to see it all for myself without being informed of anything.

I think it's on Netflix Instant Stream, so I think I'll be checking it out sometime soon.

That is going to be what kills The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. Though from the red band trailer maybe not.

As for Let Me In/Let the Right One In, they're both masterful in their own right. IMO they're on the same level with just a different vision/interpretation.

Win Win. Paul Giamatti, the chick who plays Holly in The Office.

Good story.... this is not a blockbuster and won't win any awards, but it's a good little drama. The wrestling scenes are pretty nice....wish there had been maybe one or two more, but the kid playing the H.S. wrestler does a decent enough acting job. The guy who plays who I believe is Giamatti's brother-in-law does a good job as the insensitive ******* role.

Nope, but I would like to now. And just saw it's on Netflix: Instant, so I'll have to watch it tomorrow if I have the time.

The book was...incredible, in its own way. It was hard to read at some parts, hard to follow at others, and downright mesmerizing the rest of the time.

I forgot that I also watched Hanna. Another good movie, some very good action and a nice story to go along with it. Nothing out-of-this-world, but it was pretty bad ***.
