Yeah it's becoming that way with a lot of comedies that the jokes are just too forced, etc. With Sandler's old stuff there was a good funny storyline and all the comedy was just natural within the movie or whatever you want to say

Sherlock Holmes 2: Electric Boogaloo
Very good movie. Possibly even better than the first one. I could watch Downey and Law banter with each other all day, and Moriarty turns out to be a fantastic villain. Definitely recommended.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I think the biggest hurdle was not only the marketing, but they needed a bigger leading star than Riggins. Apparently the deleted scenes (at least the original introduction they cut) help the movie out.

Watched Take Me Home Tonight on Blu-ray with the wife last night. Wasn't bad, but also wasn't as good as I thought it would be.Comment

Don't Mess With The Zohan..
Not the best comedy, but it had an interesting cast, including Michael Buffer and Dave Matthews.
Snow White and The Huntsman
Saw it at the theater last night, while on a date. Solid movie (even though I was really skeptical)..
Beverly Hills Cop 2
I've seen it several times, but still love this movie..Comment

Would have helped, but he still did a good job in the movie. Just one of those things where I had no clue what the movie was about when it was theaters and then the average person sees it being a Disney movie and didn't go(at least that's how people I knew acted)Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

A Thousand Words: Well I can see why this movie was on the shelf for a few years before finally being released. It's not a bad film per se and there were some funny moments but it's not great shakes either. It's one of those movies that if you happen to find it on cable it's worth watching for a few minutes. Clark Duke who played Murphy's assistant was the best thing in this film and had a few laugh out loud moments.
Safe House: Excellent movie, you gotta love it when Denzel does a role where he's not exactly a good guy though in the end he's vindicated in this one. I thought Ryan Reynolds was excellent even though i'm not a big fan of his even though my GF is. There was one scene when he was changing and she was saying he should take off all his clothes and be naked LOL!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Just saw Prometheus and was not very happy. Just really did not think it was up to the hype that was built around it. Wont say it was horrible but did not work for me.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I can see why he wasn't reviewed very well. He hasn't really shown a great deal of range, but he did okay in this movie. Still, it could have benefited from a more dynamic actor. He's very dry I feel like. It also doesn't help that parts of the movie felt rushed. I just felt like both Disney and Stanton dropped the ball here because I feel like there's a good movie/series here.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I watched 6 movies in the last few days and I enjoyed them all.
Colombiana: Awesome. Zoe Saldana did a good job portraying her character. One of the better revenge movies I've seen recently. Entertaining action and story with a good pace.
Haywire: I really liked the directing and the score. Gina Carano is great.
Thin Ice: Reminds me a lot of Fargo, which of course is a good thing. It did drag a bit in the middle but a really strong ending saved it for me.
Five Year Engagement: Good movie that mixes comedy, romance, and drama very well. Jason Segal is likable and Emily Blunt is beautiful, also had a good supporting cast including Kevin Hart.
Machine Gun Preacher: I've never been a Gerard Butler fan but this movie changed that. Really powerful and though-provoking film.
Prometheus: Beautiful film with an excellent cast. I recommend it to any Sci-Fi fans.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 06-17-2012, 10:00 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

I liked the movie, will purchase the blu-ray down the road, and don't agree with blasting this movie got, but it could have been better.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
In Time: An interesting movie that Justin Timberlake did last year. The GF wanted to see this so I burned it for her and we watched it last night. It started off as a quasi Logan's Run clone and then turned into a bit of a fugitive/Robin Hood kind of movie as Timberlake and the daughter of the guy controlling time (every one in the "ghettos" only lives for 25 years and currency is the time that they have) take down the establishment. I expected a bit more action but it was alright.
Timberlake has promise as an actor but I think he's probably better suited to the comedy/action genres than anything else. It was a bit of a "meh" movie but I applaud the production as it was written, produced and directed by one guy so this was definitely a more personal film than your typical Hollywood flick.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
