I think they are supposed to do an essay assignment this weekend comparing what they wrote versus what was in the film, yada yada.
That sounds like a fun activity and not a bad assignment for a sub; the most difficult job in existence.

Touchback. I enjoyed it, but it was very cheesy. The blatant football "goofs" stood out.

            The Hunger Games.

Awesome story and pretty good movie as well. Now it's time to dive into the books because I must know all about the characters.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Well I just finished my little run of Eastwood starred and directed movies

Blood Work (2002): This isn't the greatest movie and I wasn't really feeling it. The best thing that can be said for it is that its solidly done in most aspects except the script which made things a tad too obvious. Eastwood was quite good and his economical directing style was perfect for a somewhat slow but watchable flick.

Actually I take back my charitable view of this a bit and will say it's more on the poor side but Eastwood keeps my interest but as I said earlier if the script was stronger it'd have been a lot better especially when about halfway through we know who the killer is and it's slow going to get to the climax

One and three quarter stars mainly on the strength of Eastwood's acting and directing.

                  Pitch Perfect
It was good in the same way that Bring It On and Stick It were good.

My only major problem was this...you can't make fun of something other movies do then proceed to do it yourself. Just no. Unless you're making fun of it by doing it in a ridiculous way which wasn't the case here.

Ups to the large British chick. She was fantastic. Ester Dean was quite good too in her limited role. I don't know who Adam DeVine is but he has to be related to Jack Black. Couldn't stop wondering where I knew Brittany Snow from...I looked at her imdb page and...nothing. I haven't seen a single thing she's been in before this but she looks so familar.

The Scream series does this very well, actually.

Comedian who stars in the TV show Workaholics, pretty hilarious guy. But yeah his style is kind of like Jack Black now that I think of it

Sunshine Cleaning: Damn good. I liked it a lot. It's got a solid, unique premise and the two leads, Amy Adams and Emily Blunt, are great together.

It's a bit indie, so if you have an aversion to that I would probably steer clear, but I really liked it.

                          The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Saw this last night with my son, we both loved it. We're big fans of Jackson's LOTR movies, and I've read all the books multiple times. I really enjoyed Peter's embellishments and the pacing of the film. I was skeptical that three films would be needed to tell this tale but Pete's expanding it so nicely that I can see it now. Can't wait for the next!

Started watching The Artist on Netflix last night. Only made it about half way in and had to go to bed. The acting in this movie is incredible.

Finally saw The Dark Knight Rises. Fantastic, especially the last hour. A nice way to wrap up the Nolan trilogy, while also planting some seeds for the Batman series to continue.

Bane's voice was a minor complaint, though. Sometimes he'd be easy to understand, other times I had no clue what he was saying.

Once I read what he's saying, with CC on, I hear everything clear as day now.
