I haven't seen Class Act since it was first released. I own all the House Party movies. The first is still one of my favorites from that era.Currently Playing:

Broken City
I found this enjoyable, even if it was very by the book in terms of the storyline. Any movie with Kyle Chandler earns bonus points from me, though. Even though the storyline was predictable, I will say the story was well told and the acting was solid. It isn't a waste of time if you choose to watch it.Currently Playing:

The movie, Fresh.
I can't deny it's aesthetics, but the story was a mess and had forgettable characters.
Also the tech in the film was more advanced than Alien...which for a prequel is a no-no. The space jockey enigma was better left alone, IMO.GO 'HAWKS!

16 Blocks - Very enjoyable cop thriller starring Bruce Willis and Mos Def the rapper. Mos Def talked a little too much but other than that this movie was a fun ride.
The Book Of Eli - Didn't really enjoy as much as others. I didn't like the gritty effects. Only thing I liked about the film was Mila Kunis and also the action scenes. Other than that this movie was bleh.
Moonrise Kingdom - WTH did I just watched? Never ever will I watch this movie again.Comment

The Place Beyond The Pines.
Sucked.
....and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, they introduced the character of Bradley Cooper's hip-hop white teenage son...... who you just want to smack.Last edited by daflyboys; 06-02-2013, 12:22 PM.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I saw Chained last night and it was okay. Would of been 10x better if they focused more on the female victims instead of just the two main characters...This was released in 2012 I think and it is very difficult to watch if you have a weak stomach for torture, incest, and kidnapping. I'm not going to lie it was kind of tough for me to watch but a friend recommend it to me...
SpoilerThere is an incest scene when the taxi driver was having a nightmare/flashback of his childhood when his father forced him to have sex with his mother. That was some sick stuff right there...Sick as in disgusting. Basically this film is about a mother & a son getting kidnapped by a taxi driver...The taxi took them home, kills the mother & kept the kid captive in his home for a long, long time untill he was in his late teens or early 20s....Then there's is a twist at the end......The kid's father set this thing up the whole time because he wanted his wife and child dead and the taxi driver was his father's brother (which was his uncle) this whole time...Last edited by UWfan206; 06-02-2013, 11:55 AM.Comment

watched now you see me and hangover 3. both were pretty enjoyable. the first one kept me engaged throughout and even though it has plot holes...i give it a 8/10.
hangover 3 was better than i thought it'd be. I liked that it didnt reference the 2nd much because it was awful...had some nice connections to the first one. overall enjoyed it. 7/10

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Prometheus was OnDemand in 3D, so I decided to grab my 3D glasses and give it a go.
My words once the credits started to roll were literally a "Uhh... OK", which was very much what I should have expected after reading other people's reviews on it. I kind of thought that maybe people just didn't get it or didn't like open endings, as is often the case, but I don't believe that at all any more.
It was an interesting idea with some pretty cool visuals - and it didn't bother to tell a story or explain a single damn thing. I just sort of kept waiting for one of the characters to make some sense of things, but no one ever did.
I'm not saying it was bad or that I didn't like it - but it felt like a really cool idea that they never bothered to really flesh out in any way whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend seeing it, nor would I recommend not seeing it, if one was inclined to watch it.Comment
