    Vertigo
One of my all-time favorite movies. Intriguing story, good character development, excellent cinematography and the musical score is a perfect fit for the film. Arguably Hitchcokc's greatest film.

      Fury
This review sums it up for me:
"David Ayer's depiction of the horrors of war had a rather mixed effect on me - some of the images he created were harrowing and powerful, others felt gratuitous and superfluous. However, 'Fury' is held together by solid performances, gripping action sequences and a consistent intensity. "

[Teenage Mutant] NINJA TURLES - I am pretty disappointed in this. The personalities were true to the characters, but the changes in origins were distracting and made everything too insular. The only outside guy was Shredder - everything was tied to April who I actually liked despite Megan Fox's doe eyedness. The CGI was distracting and felt like a barrier between the human characters and the turtles. Splinter was a badass, though.

The Addams Family & Addams Family Values - Really enjoyed both of these. The sequel is surprisingly not much of a step below the original. Wednesday and Thing were my favorite characters. Also, speaking of Thing, I was kind of surprised at how decent the special effects were for very early 90s movies. Definitely going to look around for these on DVD or Blu-Ray.

Unless I just haven't been paying attention, I'm surprised they haven't tried to do an Addams Family remake. I'm good with the first two, but at the same time I'd be interested to see what they could do nowadays.

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark - This was....interesting to say the least, lol. It's a good bad movie, if that makes sense. Has some pretty good laughs in it and there's two big reasons why the movie kept my attention for the most part.

Why yes, these were good reasons to keep on watching:

Seriously though, I agree with you in that this is a guilty pleasure kind of film. I remember back in the day this would be shown semi-regularly on one of the channels here. Let's just say i'd always watch with great interest LOL!

Highlander. I always thought of it as a "joke movie", seeing people like Rifftrax and others riff on it. I really enjoyed it, even if a bit hammy at times. The camera work at times was great(lots of sweeping scenery shots and one take zoom ins), especially during the "training bits".

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

I went on a bit of a tear this week.

Captain America: Winter Soldier - I think this is now my favorite of the Marvel movies. It was fantastic.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Loved this one too. I know there will be more movies, but it works great as a standalone film. I thought it was hilarious. Batista was a riot.

The Count of Monte Cristo - One of my favorite movies based on one of my favorite books. My only complaint is that the third act seems rushed. But still a great film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - I really enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised by Megan Fox. The change in the origin story didn't bother me; in fact I think it makes more sense that it wasn't some random accident. I thought the CGI could've been a little better. It's not an all time classic, but I'd watch it again.

Wolf of Wall Street - First time seeing it, and I was blown away. I enjoyed every minute of it. So many great performances.

Now watching "THE SANTA CLAUSE" on ABC Family. I love this movie.

                      Scott Calvin: He's naked somewhere.

                      Judy the Elf: Santa.

Ocean's Twelve. It was alright, but one too many dues ex machinas for my tastes.

Awesome 90's action movie IMO. Haven't seen it in years, but we watched it on the ship and some of our younger guys had never seen it. The ITs were tearing it apart and I turned and said, "Why are you guys trying to bring physics and normal logic into a 90's action movie ?".

Also watched Harry Potter 1-5 over the past few days.

My roommates think I'm insane. They ask open questions and I always seem to know the answer. My HP knowledge is just too much at times..

I saw this for the first time ever last night. Bought it on Blu-ray a couple weeks ago. Wife and I watched it together. I'm a big Bill Murray fan so I definitely enjoyed it. Different take on the Christmas Carol story.

I don't think you have to explain... I think that makes the list complete on who has now seen this on the globe!

I always got a kick out of the giant text definition in his office on the wall of "Cross" (his last name): a thing you nail people to. Interestingly, I had some dealings with a guy who lived out in Indiana when they were filming "Groundhog's Day". I guess the word around town was that Murray acted like a dick, but you can't know if that was his steady personality or an incidental time/place.
