Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saw the latest MI. Very good story. I could do without Alec Baldwin (always), but it wasn't a deal breaker. Wasn't the biggest fan of Simon Pegg in this series, but enjoyed him very much in this. This makes me want to go back and watch some of the original series again (Season 2 on).
Only one problem with one point....

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I watched the Fright Night remake earlier and now I'm watching Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
Fright Night was pretty good. Colin Farrell was actually really good in it.
And I've seen New Nightmare a million times, but Its on SyFy and I can't sleep.Comment

Catch Me If You Can
I must watch this everytime it's on. One of my top 3 of all time that I love to watch.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saw Roger Waters The Wall Live new movie out one day only on Tuesday and was blown away. Yes its long and yes its self indulgent but its one hell of a ride if you're a Pink Floyd and/or Roger Waters fan. Honestly nearly brought me to tears during some parts. Roger really bares it all and gives everything in this definitive remake of one of the best all time concept albums.
Be aware though it's pretty heavily political and less about the rock star alienation and more about the folly and tragedy of war and trusting our government. Pretty timely IMO. Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Been watching a lot of old timey movies lately however one that stood out to me was A Big Hand for the Little Lady (1966) A slightly comedic western starring Henry Fonda, Joanne Woodward and a bunch of great character actors. Fonda and his family roll into Laredo to get their wagon fixed in the midst of the biggest poker game in the state being played by the richest men around. Fonda worms his way into the game and has a heart attack more or less as he's trying to find a way to get more money as the pot has been raised and he feels he has a truly winning hand. He gets his wife to play for him and things get quite interesting.
There's more to the story but that would give it away. It's very similar to a Paul Newman movie that would come out a few years later. Jason Robards really steals the show as the cantankerous low life scum Henry Drummond. His character however becomes slightly redeemed by the end of it. Charles Bickford (in his last movie role) is great as the woman hating undertaker Ben Tropp. I need to mention one other actor and that would be Kevin McCarthy as the dashing gentleman lawyer Otto Habershaw. I kept looking at McCarthy and saying "I know that face from somewhere" and lo and behold looking up IMDB he was in the '92 Eddie Murphy movie The Distinguished Gentleman!
Anywho A Big Hand for the Little Lady can be a bit boisterous at times but you get fine performances from all the actors involved which is pretty amazing considering a good chunk of the movie takes place in a saloon/back room. It's a movie you should check out at least once.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Just saw The Hive. Very interesting movie to say the least concept wise. I give it a 6 out of 10.
Definitely a different take in the horror genre

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Just watched The Hidden. Another interesting concept on the survival genre.
The wife and I enjoyed it. Might not be for everyone, but if you go along with the movie, you just might be surprised
