Fighting With The Family. Much better than expected..... highly recommended. If you didn't see the trailer, don't bother as it will spoil a few comedic moments but there are many more.

I watched La Femme Nikita (the original) and Point of No Return (the US remake) both were good films on their own merits but the version that really spoke to me was the original done by Luc Besson. I thought the acting was stronger and Nikita in that film was a stronger, angrier persona than the version of the character as played by Bridget Fonda.

The US film also tacked on an unnecessary and creepy love triangle between her BF and her handler whereas in the original there was no need for that and the husband and handler had a mutual respect until the very end but even then they both knew they loved and will miss Nikita.

The original French film is a character study with action undertones whereas the US remake was an action movie with some character study. I also really hated Dermot Mulroney's BF character as he was very pushy and petulant whereas the analog in the original film was a sensitive sort who loved and gave Nikita space.

Anyways both are good movies but I favor the French film (4 stars for La Femme Nikita 2 1/2 stars for Point of No Return)

Watched a handful of movies recently with the wife

A Star is Born

I really liked this one. Lady Gaga has a fantastic voice. I honestly had no idea because most of here songs are poppy. Her acting was top notch as well. Bradley Cooper can also sing really well and he nailed his part. Loved the music. Really good film. 10/10

A Simple Favor

This was pretty good as well. Nice little mystery/comedy. I'm partial to Anna Kendricks so she can't really do much wrong in my eyes. Blake Lively was freaking great too. Loved the vulgar/innocent contrast between the too. 7/10

Hunter Killer

Well this entertained in the I don't wanna think and just watch **** blow up category lol. It wasn't awful or anything. Just not that great. If you ain't got nothing better to do why not. 5/10

Creed II

This was awesome. Loved the first one and this didn't disappoint. Maybe a little predictable but other then that it was very solid. Great acting all around and the boxing was top notch. Highly recommend. 10/10

Fighting With The Family

I thought this was awesome. It had some really funny moments and the main actress was great in her part. The whole family was great actually. It's cool to know this was based on real people lol. The wrestling scenes were really well done too. I really enjoyed this one. 9/10

I had no idea this was a true story going in. Made it even better once the post-movie credits started rolling and showing actual home movie footage.

My captain Marvel review:
Beginning bit was slow, but once she came to Earth/C53 things got better. Lol Blockbuster returns!

Sucked that Coulson wasn't in the movie as much as I had hoped. I thought he'd be a reoccurring character who made rookie mistakes and rode along with Fury throughout movie. I got use to Coulson on Agents of Shield, but crazy to think non AOS fans haven't seen him since he died on Avengers years ago, so that small appearance is probably more special for them.

Movie as a whole was good. I liked it better than most of the other non Avengers MCU movies like the Ironman ones or first 2 Thors.

The twist on who's the enemy was cool too. I liked those good guys better than the original good guys.

Finally getting to see how Fury got his eyepatch lol. Wasn't expecting that until halfway through movie.

I'm rewatching Infinity War first.

To be fair, I didn't expect to have NBA playoffs to be watching for this long. That's why I'm so behind. I'll take it.

First off, NBA...congrats on that! I remember when the Raptors came into the league, and I loved the Vinsanity! Half Man, Half Amazing.

Secondly, and back on topic, yeah, a rewatch of Infinity War first is a great idea. Takes you right into Endgame very nicely.
