It's being said that the key for the ALT is LOVE. But it doesn't seem like it. Otherwise, Jack and Kate would have recognized themselves inside the plane. In other POV, Desmond recognizes Penny as his 'lover', but Penny doesn't recognize Desmond. Daniel recognizes Charlotte and Charlie recognizes Claire.

This is because all characters (with the exception of Desmond, check above) that proves this theory are already dead.

Jack and Kate doesn't recognized themselves because they are alive in the Main TimeLine. That applies for Sawyer too when he saw Kate (twice).

Charlie recognizes Claire because he's already dead in the MTL.

Daniel recognizes Charlotte because of the same reason.

Desmond recognizes Penny because he's the exception. He's special, he doesn't follow the rules.

I guess in the next episodes, more and more losties will recognize themselves because they are going to die in the MTL. For example, Sawyer will remember Juliet because he'll die in the MTL.

Other proofs about the relation between timelines being death, there's SUN. Sun stopped talking english as soon as was shot in the Alternate TimeLine. This is because Sun died in the ATL. Since Sun died, she started to remember the ALT in the MTL, and can't speak english, just like in the ALT.

The key component to that theory goes back to when they blow up the bomb and Juliet is about to die in Sawyers arms, at which point she says "we did it".

Not saying it proves your theory right or wrong,(I agree with your theory, in parts) but that point can either raise or kill your argument.

Just watched it with a buddy who yelled "great more questions!" I told him this is Season 6, what do you expect? Good to see the Whispers got answered and Libby reintroduced. The ending was 5* amazing.

Also I seriously that's not how Desmond is gonna go out. For some reason I always forget if he is a candidate.

So the whispers are dead people trapped on the island for what they did ... don't tell me you are going that way.

Tell us about the boy. I don't know if he is Jacob or some form oversight of the island. Basically you can't kill Jacob, he always comes back.

Will killing Desmond on the island stop him from reuniting everyone in the alternate reality? If he reunites everyone, does he stop what is happening now and the plane doesn't have to crash for the outcome to be the same and the realities to merge?

Looks like only the people who are dead on the island reality are able to remember. Then they can help the other person to remember. Maybe the candidates are the only ones who can remember afterward.
