Yes, because the show was character-driven when Ben was at his height. He was a great character S3-5, one of my favorite in TV history.

The characters as a whole were deep and entertaining for the most part in S1-5, though every character had their own eb & flow of importance and like/hate-ability.

Out of everything that Lost is, and was, the characters and how well we go to know them and their flaws & history was my favorite part of the show.

S6, every character is so damn bland now.

Is he dead though? The last thing I remember was the door flying open and water started rushing at him. I don't think they showed a clip of him after that, right?

The scene from a while back where it shows the MIB and Jacob sitting on the beach. MIB says "Do you realise how much I want to kill you right now?"

I have a gut feeling that that is the way it is going to end. Sawyer(MIB) is going to say that to Jack (Jacob) in the last scene.

I also have a feeling the last scene is going to be either something we've seen before (like oceanic flight 815 in the air) or like you mentioned a scene we've seen before with sawyer and jack replacing MiB and jacob.

well, there is something there. I have read interviews and everyone keeps going back to "Everyone will have a different perspective on the Pilot Episode" after they watch the finale.

I disagree. We've seen some great character transformations this season with Ben, Jack, Sayid and Hurley. The Richard back story. Even the characters interactions in the alt-reality have been interesting.

Yeah, they've transformed from being deep and interesting to bland, boring and in Ben's case - irrelevant.

The Richard flashback was great, besides that, meh.

I painfully agree most of the cast have lost their interest and they do seem shallow.

Then again, it could be like S3 where every episode was "deep and meaningful."

I seriously have no idea what show you guys are watching. I get nit-picking all the other parts but to say that there hasn't been any character progression this season -- especially Jack -- is just false.

It's more regression than progression for a majority of the cast.

Jack, Locke.... Richard... I think I covered everyone. Outside of them it has been Zzzzzzzz.
