I've been looking at installing a new ROM on my Evo 4G and have a couple questions if you can answer. With the Synergy mod were you able to keep 4G? Is your battery life any better? Do you have a guide that you used? I have installed a couple mods but don't do it often enough to remember how.

The HTC Evo 4G is Sprint's flagship Android smartphone for the second half of 2010. Originally shipping with Android 2.1 (Eclair), it has since been updated to Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread). The Evo 4G borrows a number of hardware components from the legendary HTC HD2, including the 4.3" WVGA TFT...
Just switched from evo 4g to 3d. Couldn't be happier, more ram, memory and so much happier. I was rooted and tried nearly every Rom on xda.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Thanks Dre and rush, we went today and swapped out the BB for the Captivate. She seems so far to like it much better, now I need to find some kind of protective case for it. My wife isn't the greatest with taking care of cell phones. LOL! Any suggestions on where to get a case? BBY was kind of a ripoff and we didn't like what they were offering.Comment

I have a question about wi-fi. Wifi is the internet from your home right? It doesn't use up data when you surf the web. I have the cheapest data plan which is 15 for at&t.
Say I transfer songs from my computer to my phone and then use a free downloaded app to make ringtones. Does the app(Handcent SMS) that chops up the song and makes ringtones, does it continue to use your data or once you have downloaded the app its yours and it doesn't use it up?
Also say your on wifi and you want to surf the web. Your using wifi and not data right? Like if you go into the droid store to surf and look at apps will it use up your data?
I'm new to this if anyone can't tell by now.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Cheaper at amazon, 3 pack of screen protectors were like $7 after my company discount, so I didn't look anywhere else for those.Comment

Thanks I got it figured out though. I just took songs from my computer and downloaded a couple of apps and that solved the problem.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Apps will use data if they need access to the internet, some apps (like free ones) need to use the data plan to download ads. When you install the app, it tells you what it has access to. If you tun off data on the phone, you can see if the app still runs, some will and some won't.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I've been having a problem in my HTC EVO the last couple days with the browser. The notification tab (tab with battery life etc.) keeps popping in and out during browser use. I've tried turning the phone off/on and even took out the battery. Same problem. Any ideas?Comment
