It's upgrade time from my old Samsung which is nearly three years old and is now unreliable. An S3 would also be a consideration.

Also...does tapatalking on message boards cut into your data plan much? I'd only need it occasionally on some weeknights and light use on weekends for that as I usually post from work. I don't plan to stream music or videos.

    Thanks!
It fits fine in mine. However, I wear more straight/relaxed-straight jeans. The size doesn't affect me at all after a week.

I will say, if you wear sweats (I have Nike sweats) be careful when getting into a car, it could fall out. I've adjusted to it so much to put my hand on the side as I am sitting.

I put my S3 in my back pocket, it just isn't comfortable in my front pocket. I don't carry a wallet though, just a money clip, so my back pockets are open. Cargo pant pockets work good though.

really? wow, I would be too scared of accidentally sitting on it if I put it in my back pocket.
I keep mine on my belt most days, but occasionally I put it in my front pocket.

I guess I just always know it is there. I take it out of my pocket when I get in my car, I put it on my desk when I get to work. If I'm at a ballgame or something with hard seats, then yeah it goes in a front pocket. If I forget about it in my pocket when I sit down, I know immediately it's there when I start to sit because the S3 is so large, so I pull the phone out then. But even if I do sit on it, it doesn't hurt it. Maybe if I weighed 300 lbs, but I don't.

I have Verizon (would never ever go back to AT&T) and have been since I was 14, minus one year of AT&T which was a mistake.

I always root every single Android I have, I couldn't live with myself if I didn't. I do that with every piece (phone or tablet) as soon as I take it out of the box and make sure that it is in working condition. I've had... 4 different droid phones and my tablet (Nexus 10).

To be honest, I haven't rooted the Note 2....I just don't need to right now. I did with every other phone but this phone is so awesome right now...I just haven't gotten around to it.

Started with SPRINT and hated the service
Since then (about 5-6 years??) I've been with AT&T. Never had any issues with them (Yet)

Quick question though. What are other plans costs per month for unlimited data?

Verizon doesn't offer unlimited data anymore. I'm grandfathered in.

The only thing that sucks is that if I want to keep my plan, I have to buy my phones at full price (that started shortly after I bought my Galaxy Nexus.) Otherwise the subsidized price I can only get if I switch plans.

Except I can still get upgrade pricing on phones. So I doubt I leave AT&T anytime soon

It's pretty simple now for most newer phones, many of them have 1 touch rooting programs to download from XDA (forums/android scene) or the like.

I just bought a verizon galaxy nexus to get back into the android world (already have an iPhone 5.). Since its been so long, I need some advice on what tweaks I need to do, what apps I need and any other advice on the phone.

                                Any input would be appreciated.
