So using this app, could I, for example, email my resume to myself from word, and open it using this app on an ipad without any problems?

Another question for ya, lol. Could this replace a laptop as a primary itunes device? In other words, can an ipod be plugged into and for syncing? Or do we still need a laptop with itunes to do that kind of stuff?

You'd still need a desktop/laptop with iTunes to sync with.

Well, if you didn't have any media to start with, I suppose you could solely get it via the built in store on the iPad, but if you want to put anything you already own on it you would need a computer.

But there isn't anyway to plug my ipod or iphone into the ipad correct? I would still need a laptop to do all that yes?

That is pretty stupid when you think about it. Why not have your new product compatible with your most popular one?

These things look amazing and i'm sure are ideal for some people but the lack of flash and practical applications means there is no way i would ever buy one.

I read a lot of web sites are doing away with Flash just for this argument above. As for practical applications, there's an app for just about anything you could do on a regular laptop.

Think of it as a giant iPod. Can you plug one iPod/iTouch/iPhone into another? Nope.

                          Re: The Apple iPad

This is my first apple device, I was with AT&T to get the iPhone but, I was given the run around about a bill. Since the service was already spotty, I left and went to verizon. Great device, but no iPhone .

Long story short, I really like the idea that apple has put behind in the creation of it's products. They seem far more safer and easier to use than pc devices. Sure some things are missing, but for the most part there is an app that is SAFE to use in replacement.

I wish verizon would stop playing games and go ahead and get apple to make them a company specific "iPhone".

Is the apple case for the iPad any good and are antiglare screen covers all the same?

Yeah i think that's my problem. I keep trying to look at this as a laptop replacement (which is silly because we already have MacBook's etc) when in reality it's just an ipod with a big, awesome screen.

I'll think I'll hold off on the iPad so that I can get one of these:
