Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
I am actually looking forward to this. As long as it follows the same path as the first one, instead of the last two, it should be good.Comment

Unfortunately, the "children" movie is what most people here will take issue with based on the Transformers thread.
There will be a sizable number of users here expecting a gritty detective crime drama.Comment

Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
Hah, that's how I saw it too. I never heard about it when it was airing last fall (probably because I don't have kids so I'm not subjected to cartoons) and have been waiting for Nick to announce a DVD release.
Anyone hoping for a violent, "mature" themed TMNT movie is just setting themselves up for disappointment. The turtles were mostly a failure in that role, it wasn't until they were adapted for TV and a kid's audience that the phenomenon really began. Any movie that doesn't cater to that audience would never be signed off on by a production company. The new one hopefully won't be as slapstick as the second and third films and if its as good as the first I'll be content. The CG film from a few years ago wasn't bad either, though it wasn't really good.Comment

Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
The TMNT that aired on FoxKids about 2-3 years ago was amazing, one of the best animated series i have seen. It was dark and had content enough to entertain a range of youth. The last movie that came out in 07 was just silly. It had its moments, but was plagued by trying to be too "cute." However the scene with Rap fighting Leo made the movie alright.
For this one, i'm really hoping if they decide to follow the show, the're going to go for the one on FoxKids 2 years ago, if not then please keep the same mood and atmosphere of the original one.

Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
I don't think this series will ever return to it's glory from the first 2 movies. Those were gold.
Unfortunate. This is still my favorite cartoon ever. Wish someone would do it justice. Don't even know if I want to see it now after the whole alien thing.Comment
