Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
I actually saw the first two movies IN the theatres. Boy were those the days! The TMNT were definitely a cool thing back then, for those not old enough they were marketed out of the wazoo what with lunch boxes, clothes, bedsheets, even a cereal I think.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Its not a remake, its just using existing properties. Plus, if Bay in fact does change their backstory, that seems pretty significant.

More like took himself out... lol
Love the 2nd movie but that scene could have been more disappointing than the 3rd movie. We finally have Super Shredder on the big screen and about to fight the turtles.

Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
Battletoads? Awesome!
But, seriously, I'd like to know how they are mutant if they are alien as well. Maybe they are mutant aliens and the regular aliens will be attacking Earth?
Actually, I'm now disappointed I even thought of that because that sounds exactly like something Bay would do."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
Michael Bay, the producer of next year's live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, has addressed the widespread negative reaction fans had upon hearing that Bay and Co. have reconceived the heroes in a half-shell as aliens.
In a posting at his Shoot For The Edit blog forum, Bay said, "Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world."Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Michael Bay Tapped To Relaunch Live-Action TMNT Franchise
Huh?
Isn't the origin of the Turtles that ooze spilled on four regular pet turtles and made them into mutants?
So, how can he say they are enriching the backstory if they are changing it?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
