    Re: Superman Man Of Steel

In which case, I'll call bull**** on the Man of Steel franchise. Batman just got three stand-alone films, all 3 are widely accepted as being great, then Superman gets the short end of the stick after his reboot? I love Batman, but I absolutely hate how writers write him as being the superior/cooler/whatever hero.

Don't even get me started on prep time.

    Let Superman ****ing shine, dammit!

Idk what the story is or who Batman judge anything. I did think that MoS set up so that a sequel could be even better, so now I'm really curious to how this is gonna work.

I'm sure the 2 sides will be at odds with each other at points, but I don't think any of them will severely beat the other. It wouldn't really make sense since the whole point is to presumably get closer to a Justice League film

          Re: Superman Man Of Steel

Finally just saw this movie last night.

Liked it quite a bit. I know a lot of people criticized the lack of humor/romance, but if you've seen any of Snyder's movies you can figure out pretty quickly that he's not exactly good at the "soft stuff."

I wouldn't say this does for Superman what Dark Knight did for Batman, but I would put it on the same level as Batman Begins. A very solid intro to the "reboot universe." Very good, flirts with great. Loved the action. Hated Kevin Costner, Liked everything else a lot.

If it's World's Finest, then a team-up movie is great. Superman vs Batman? No thanks. Clark doesn't even know about kryptonite, so I'll be damned if they fought and Batman has one.

Which storyline was it where Superman went to like "arrest" Batman and but Batman told him if he touched him a bomb would off in a building or something like that, and they ended up working together?

Maybe I am crazy but I vaguely remember something like this as a kid.

                LOL! I realize that.
My point was, if you're going to see a Superman film, as a Superman fan, do you want to see him getting beaten up or made a fool of?
Or having to share the spotlight with another hero?

That's why I'm really hoping that Batman only has a small role in the film. Only to setup a JLA movie.

But if Bats is going to play a significant role in the film, then don't call it a Superman movie.

I believe that was a Superman: The Animated Series episode.

That storyline was in John Byrne's six-issue 'Man of Steel' series from 1986 (post-Crisis). It makes sense that Supes and Batman would be adversaries because their methods are different.

I'm sure it's going to be more than a minor role for Batman since it's been implied that this is a Batman & Superman movie, not Man of Steel 2.

It's too early to be jumping to conclusions though about whether or not Batman will make Superman "look like a fool" or anything like that. I agree it would be strange considering what occurred in MoS, but we also have to remember that this is still a Superman who is learning on the job.

Plus Lois, Perry White, and Mrs Kent are all in the movie so I don't think they are going to neglect the storyline of Superman that they made in the last movie.

Just let it all play out nobody really knows anything yet

What if it is Lex that speaks these lines? I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you. We seen the heavy LexCorp presence in MOS. We know that Lex is going to be against Superman and view him as a threat. What if it's Lex that gets the better hand of Superman and says it and Batman is the one that shows up to save him? That could be a way of making it both a MOS sequel and having Batman come in.

Really? You're probably in the minority on that. Thought he gave a very solid performance.

So a Superman/Batman team-up movie is happening. Director Zack Snyder's announcement at the Warner Bros. panel on Saturday was perhaps the biggest news out of Comic-Con this weekend. And while we know almost nothing about the film, it turns out Man of Steel co-writer David Goyer, who is also penning the sequel, let slip the likely name of the film at a different panel.

Goyer said the following at the Superman 75th Anniversary Panel, but the reveal was drowned out in the craziness of the day's bigger Hall H panels: “We aren’t sure if the title will be Batman Vs Superman or Superman Vs Batman, but they will face off.” (Snyder did say on Saturday that that the iconic The Dark Knight Returns -- wherein the two fight it out -- will "inform" the film.)

Slash Film has looked into which website URLs Warner Bros. owns that track with those titles. The site reports that they own both SupermanVsBatman.com and BatmanVsSuperman.com, plus BatmanVsSupermanMovie.com -- but not SupermanVsBatmanMovie.com. So the current best guess is that the film will be called… Batman Vs. Superman.

But hey, either title is great. Simple and evocative. And I, for one, can't wait to see Batman kick Superman's ***!
