Re: Superman Man Of Steel
So according to www.supermanhomepage.com and Ain't It Cool, Warners are making a Justice League movie for 2013. Zack Synder was interviewed and confirmed that there would be no connection between this new movie, his Superman film and Nolan's Batman.
If this actually gets made (Remember the Justice League movie was canned back in 08) then I'm saying this right now....cast Brandon Routh as Superman. The guy did a fantastic job and deserves another shot at the character. I'm still a little disappointed that Synder didn't bring Routh back but I can understand why.Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
It's not a reboot, it's a completely separate Justic League title. It has nothing to do with any of these films.Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
It is really bizarre to hear that Warners are already thinking about the next Batman and Superman before cameras have rolled on these new films. I think they should take their time and see how these films work out.
Also www.supermanhomepage.com has some clever ***** ****s stuff going on today. Including a fake announcement of the new Superman suit.Last edited by Guffers; 04-01-2011, 08:14 AM.Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
Since it's being discussed I'll explain the Batman thing. They HAVE to re-jig Batman on screen to somewhat match what's happening in the comic books. It was originally thought that the current Batman Inc. setup for the Bat-Books would be a two year thing but Dick Grayson and Damien Wayne as Batman and Robin has proven to be so popular that I don't think they can afford to pull the plug anytime soon.
I guess we'll see what happens there. I'd be shocked if DC comics does away with what is now a very successful formula. (I happen to love Damien as Robin)Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Ah, ok. Well I'd view it just like the comics, they reboot/create new storylines constantly. No harm really. Either people will enjoy it, or they won't. Nothing wrong with another perspective though.Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
MovieNewz.com claims to have received details from a "source" outlining the synopsis for the up-coming Superman movie.
SpoilerThe claim is that Superman is seen as a threat by the military (lead by General Sam Lane), who are disturbed by his alien origins, his powers and his motives, and use remnants of his home world against him in the form of a Kryptonite powered super solider... Metallo.
Here is the alleged synopsis posted on MovieNewz.com...
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
SpoilerSuperman being viewed as a threat by the Military.....please lets get real. It wouldn't have been a bad idea if there was instances where Superman has been shown to lose control of himself or a situation, but never has Superman been shown to defy his own loyalty to humanity.
Now if Lex Luther came up with this idea of creating Metallo then it would be a different ball park, that would actually be a good plot. I just don't think you can paint history's greatest Superman hero as a threat without any true means.
If the last Superman movie that came out showed signs of Superman slowly becoming a threat to humanity or doing small stuff that would have people doubt i n him then sure i can see the Military started a Metallo project and it getting out of hand and loose.Comment

If I remember correctly, while it's not a re-boot in the specific sense, it's a different take on the events and literally has nothing to do with Singer's "Superman Returns."Comment

Re: Superman Man Of Steel
SpoilerPlus if an alien shows up all of a sudden with all these powers and can't be stopped don't you think the military would take interest in it. It sounds like a good plot the only thing I dont like is the fact that he struggles with what he should do with his powers. Superman has always had a sense of purpose that he is suppose to use them for good from jor el and Pa Kent. This self struggle goes along more with a Marvel story line than DC, DC characters always had a sense that they had to use their gifts for the better of man where Marvel heroes always struggled with should they live a double life and be a superhero or just forget their powers and live a normal life. Just my 2 cents.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
