Like I said earlier, it failed at delivering the type of action that a Zack Snyder movie always has.

Did you say it earlier...I am having a hard time concentrating after you ridiculously proclaimed The Transformer films were better.

Not knowing much about Superman history, I figured I wouldn't be able to be a person who could pick apart things in the movie. I have no idea if they handled characters correctly or if they left out key items because I know hardly nothing of the Superman story.

Ok, you're just being deliberately obtuse now. Peace out, homie.

Warner tried to make a more serious Superman movie with good action and failed on both counts.

As far as not understanding how or why people could write a lot about it, I'll just chalk that up to you liking the movie and not wanting to see criticism cause you've spent years on a message board about sports and video games and have gone in-depth on entertainment-related topics. I'm not sure why you keep visiting the thread if all you want to see is someone stop their comment, then leave.
No criticism is fine, as I said people can have their own opinions. It was more about the pointless argument that was going on since its clear he didn't really understand your point.

I probably worded my post wrong, I've just never understood the in depth picking apart of movies whether a person liked it or not. But hey I suppose that's people's hobbies just like how I could write an essay on everything that goes wrong in a Saints game

I'm probably making no sense now that I read it so just carry on #NyquilOverdose

In the end it just comes down to personal taste and what you want in a movie. One person may want action another story or both. If I say I enjoyed it I don't expect everyone to agree with me it's just one persons opinion against another. I don't think you can be right or wrong it's how you view the movie. Arguing about it won't sway a person to one's side so it is pointless to do so. I loved it for my reasons just like a person hates it for theirs. After all it's just a movie nothing important.

                I understood it.

But it was an opinion, not a point, and I disagreed with it...vigorously.

Sure it can get repetitive to those not fond of that form of discourse but as long as it doesn't get too personal, it's a excellent form of communication. I actually appreciate strong opinions that differ from mine as long as they are clearly thought out.

                  Re: Superman Man Of Steel

There are two gripes I have with people's complaints. One is that they didn't like the action because it was just two guys flying around delivering haymakers. Newsflash, it's Superman! That's what his action scenes are like! What were you expecting. His fights are about two (nearly) invulnerable guys giving each other everything they have and being completely evenly matched. You aren't going to see martial arts or anything like that, because if you're Superman, why would you know martial arts? 99% of the time when you punch someone, it's over. If you're complaining about that style of action, then you probably just don't like Superman, and there probably isn't much they can do short of go completely away from the character to appease you.

The second is that it didn't seem like a Zack Snyder film. Zack Snyder's brand is smaller than Superman's. This film had to look and feel like a Superman film, not a Zack Snyder film. If it looked and felt like Sucker Punch or 300 (which are both fantastic films, mind you) it'd fail as a Superman movie. Not to say it has to be like the Donner movies either. But Snyder has a very unique style. If this movie looked and felt like Sucker Punch in terms of both pacing and camera work, it would've been out of place.

That said, I haven't seen the movie. The other complaints all seem valid to me. I'm still very much looking forward to the film.

I acknowledged that Superman would likely not know any other fighting style because he never had any reason to know how to fight but Zod's crew should have known something other than "throw a punch really hard". And no, I don't like Superman at all but I (clearly wrongly) thought that they hired a guy known for how stylish his direction was, specifically when it comes to fight scenes, so that he would put his stamp on it. The fights looked like they were directed by Nolan rather than Snyder, which is a bad thing in my opinion.

There is no specific Superman look that Snyder needed to adhere to and I don't know why they hired him if they were going to keep his style out of the movie. I wasn't hoping for 300-like colors or anything but you couldn't even tell that he had directed the movie and a big part of that was from how boring the action was and how poorly-integrated the green screen was with everything else.

Better question. What's so appealing about Superman?

He's a Mary Sue. He's literally perfect. He has the complexion of a caucasian, he's built like a world class bodybuilder, he has supermodel level looks, his intelligence while not genuis level (I don't think) still makes him smarter than the average person, he's invulnerable, can fly, is super strong, has x-ray vision, has heat vision, has freeze breath, has morals, is a master of disguise, and doesn't die even when thrown into the sun.

^ LOL at the "complexion of a caucasian." Pretty sure that's not a part of his appeal, and it sounds vaguely racist, though I'm sure that's not what you meant.
