I'm not sure but I heard that the sequel is coming in 2014 leading to The Justice League in 2015

I heard 2015 for the sequel, 2014 seems fast but I guess if they have everyone on board right away they could do it.

I agree about Amy Adams and Lois, she's a great actor and nice to look at but there was just something missing. It probably isn't her fault as much as the script, cause she was only a reporter for a small part of the movie. Erica Durance as Lois pretty hard to top for me tho

Saw it today. I really enjoyed it. Cavill, Crowe, Costner, and Adams all hit it out of the part. There were some things I didn't like. The big fight scene with

went on too long for me. It didn't need to be as long as it was. And the focus was on the military too much - I came to watch Superman, not the Air Force. It's a similar gripe I had with Transformers 2. The final fight scene was awesome, however. I think the sequel has the chance to be amazing (as the second movie in a superhero saga tends to be better).

I'm guessing for the sequel, Lex will feature prominantly. I could see them using Brainiac in some way to. And I best they call it Last Son of Krypton (or maybe Man of Tomorrow)

I get their involvment, but watching the air force fight and drop bombs and crash into the main ship is boring to me. I mean, what's more fun? Watching LeBron dunk or watching him pass to Cole for a layup? I paid to watch Superman save the day, not watch him help the guy from Law and Order save the day.

That said, I still loved the movie. Cavill is perfect to me. I thought it was a great way to introduce the character. I liked it better than Batman Begins which led to what is widely believed to be the best superhero movie out there.

If Lex becomes part of the sequel, I hope it's with another villain and have Lex as a side villain to save him for a more prominent role in a 3rd film. Lex isn't like the Joker where he gives no ****s, because the more you get to understand Lex Luthor, his motivations, why he thinks he is the good guy and hero Metropolis deserves, the better a villain he is.

Brainiac + Lex? Yesss.

Was Dr Hamilton on the ship at the end when it was destroyed? Is he presumed dead? If he was on the Kryptonian ship when it was destroyed, I could see him becoming a Brainiac in a future sequel.

He was on the army ship containing Kal-El's ship/converted Phantom Drive. And yes, I think every human inside is presumed dead once they dropped the payload and the Kryptonians were sent back into the Phantom Zone.

As for Brainiac, I'd rather they go the Coluan route and not convert a human into Brainiac. It's already sci-fi anyway.

I was pleasantly surprised. I hate Superman, and think he's a terrible character. But I enjoyed the movie and thought it was great.

I felt like the film was either incomplete or too rushed.

To be honest, I felt like half the time they were going too fast, and sometimes they were going far too slow.

Example of both: Clark just suddenly accepting that his father sent him to the planet to be what amounts to a God, and that his father wanted him to be a Superhero and even had his tailoring done! What a guy!

Then we have Zod's conclusion to basically cause genocide instead of willingly live side by side with humans. While I appreciate that the film needs a villain, Zod is portrayed, for the most part, as a man who only cares about recreating his civilization. Humans willingly give him that chance, and he just says "Nah, I'll just kill everyone instead"? Seems unlikely, and needed more development in that area.

All in all, I'd say it's okay. I think it's by far the best movie released since Superman 2 Donner Version, and better than Superman 1. It's appreciation for Superman and the seriousness that Superman has is all very welcomed. Also love little nods to the comics and universe.

The final battle reminded me a lot of the Death of Superman, some moments that looked eerily similar to that comic.

Also, the Satellite belonging to Wayne Corp was awesome and provides some future material.

I'd say 6 1/2 or 7 out of 10. I enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't see it in theaters again.

Zod felt that Krypton could only be rebuilt on the graves of mankind. Coexisting wasn't an option, because something had to be destroyed in order to create (I forget his exact words - it's when he's in Superman's head). When the resurrection of Krypton was no longer an option, his focus turned to vengeance, and the extermination of mankind was his form of revenge against Kal-El

Seems either severely flawed or simply poor plot point. It's not HUGE to me, but it seems like a cop out to use that excuse.

It wasn't explained, but I imagine Jor-El's purpose, as a scientist, was the betterment of the Kryptonian race as well. And he believed that natural births were the key to that. Also, he felt that with Krypton's impending doom, they had to coexist with another race. Jor-El was a scientists, Zod a warriors. Their means to the same ends are going to be very different. Jor-El didn't have the freedom of choice anymore than did Zod, but his methods ended up being different.
