Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Just grabbed these two babies off rtings.com for a very fair deal. It's their review units from last year, the C6 and the E6, used 10-20 hours. Also I took a pic with our boy Cedric. Made the 6hr drive from Toronto to Montreal to buy these two and it was worth every penny.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I just can't make a decision. Now I am torn between the LG 65" C7 OLED or the Samsung 75" KS9000. I currently have a 70" set and I am nervous about going smaller. Also, the Samsung is a $200 cheaper then LG. The picture on the C7 is awesome though.

Also, I am looking for a decent budget 55" 4k HDR set for my place in Germany. Anyone familiar with the European 4k models?Last edited by FlyingFinn; 05-11-2017, 05:13 PM.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I was picking up the E6 for myself and the C6 for my buddy. When I saw both in person, IMO, outside of the W7 from this year I think the C6 is the sexiest TV from an aesthetics standpoint. I almost picked it over the E6 but I wanted the sound bar base more than I wanted the aesthetics.

I've always been a big fan of curved TVs to begin with but the C6 takes everything that is a weakness about curved screens....Mainly the viewing angle....And makes it non-existant because of the OLED panel.

You really have to see the C6 in person to appreciate how stunning it is.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

 I have a question, I'm sure it's been asked but I can't find it.

So I have a KU6500 and it only has the UHD color option for HDMI 1 and I currently have my PS4 hooked up to it. I'm planning on getting a Xbox one s here shortly and would like to take advantage of the benefits of UHD color.

So instead of swapping out the cables is there a splitter I could get to deal with this? I know they are out there but don't know exactly what type I'd need.

 Thanks.

This is the only one I saw that was both HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 capable, which you'll need for 4K and HDR.

 Wait, a splitter isn't what you'd want. You'd want a switch, or a receiver.I have a question, I'm sure it's been asked but I can't find it.

 A splitter would be used to turn one output into two. You want to turn one input into two, no?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I think you're right, Blzer...This is what he'd be looking for in that case. There's a few options though:

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Personally, I would upgrade to a home theater with an AV receiver and run everything through the receiver. It is crazy to me to have such a stunning video experience and use the TV speakers or a simple soundbar for sound.Comment

Ok, cool. That's not a bad deal to be able to utilize what I need. I was worried it would be really expensive.I think you're right, Blzer...This is what he'd be looking for in that case. There's a few options though:

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I would love to do that, but unfortunately after spending $300 on a Xbox I won't have the money any time soon to do this. So I'll get that switch for now. But definitely will do this down the road.

Could you recommend one with the best bang for the buck for me for future reference?Last edited by PVarck31; 05-16-2017, 03:19 PM.Comment

LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

My 49x800d just got a new software/firmware update. I tried looking but don't know what it's for. If anyone knows feel to let us know

Maybe they could have lowered the 33ms lag [emoji102][emoji16]. Wishful thinking but I don't notice that 33ms anyways

 Thanks

Edit: This software update (version PKG6.2414.0040NAA) provides general performance improvements of the TV."
