It's not that cinema is popular, it's what is recommended for the most natural true-to-cinema setting. I don't really like it either all that much when I first switch to it on a new tv but you'll get used to it. If you want to view movies how they were meant to be viewed you should be using cinema setting.

Power saver is always turned on by default on these devices thanks to government regulations mandating it. Every day I turn on my AC I have to turn it off power saving mode to regular cool mode. It's really stupid.

Yeah when I first got my Samsung KS8000 55 inch back in like mid November I didn't know about the power saver setting and for about a week I thought maybe I got a bad unite has the picture was not wanting to stay bright enough and it felt like the picture settings were not saving and I had no idea what was going on lol.

Replace your thermostat with an old school analog thermostat?

Yeah when I first got my Samsung KS8000 55 inch back in like mid November I didn't know about the power saver setting and for about a week I thought maybe I got a bad unite has the picture was not wanting to stay bright enough and it felt like the picture settings were not saving and I had no idea what was going on lol.

Really guys? That's the first thing I've always done on a new TV is turn off power saving mode. It's been on TVs for a good while, like years and years.

lol I am not the most tech guy and I had no idea this was a thing. I started to google about that when I couldn't figure out what was going on and that is how I found out about it. Before that I had never heard of it. When you say years and years I am not sure how long you are talking about but I don't get a new TV that often. When I got the TV back in November it was the first TV I had gotten since like August of 2007 and that TV didn't have any power save setting. Before that I had the same TV for as long as I can remember. Only had 3 TV's ever now 28 years old.

Well my memory isn't the best but I'm pretty sure that this was the case on my first HDTV back in 2008. The dimming/eco saver is on by default because of government regulations for energy conservation. You see most people leave the default settings of any device about 90% or so of the time so it's a pretty big deal to make something the default.

First thing I do on any new tech is look for an energy mode and turn it off. I may just be paranoid by now but in the past it's just caused a lot of problems for me. I remember those years of hitting my space bar on Windows trying to wake it up...nope, not doing that crap again, LOL

It's pretty amazing that The TCL that is half the price for big names brands equal the quality or even surpassing it. This should tell you that sometimes your only buying the name.

When the TCL is putting up these number is a no brainier

Just picked up lg uh7700 60" at best buy for 830. Been eyeballing this one for a while at $1000 because a 60 inch is about all I could fit above my fireplace..this dropping in price I couldn't resist

Nice set, but it does not support Wide Color Gamut, Lag time looks good.

Anybody bought the new Samsung mu8000 compared to the ks8000. There's a good article and just want to get feedback from the community about the change. Since I miss out on getting Samsung ks8000

Let us know how it is...I'm thinking this could be a good upgrade for me without going crazy on money....especially now that 55 inch should be fine for our smaller living room

After getting home and hooking it up and using Rtings settings, man this Set is beautiful. I played my xbox one s on this and played Gears and Horizon 3 and man awesome, the lag when playing call of duty was stellar, for the Price and what this set offers its a perfect deal.

Also what i love about this set, is if your playing a game that supports HDR it will come up on screen in the right corner with the letters HDR letting you now its active and then it will unlock an extra HDR setting, for HDR Dark, HDR DARKER, HDR BRIGHT, HDR BRIGHTER, very nice feature, this settings only come up if your using something that uses HDR. My Hisense does not do this.



Best Part is my lady bought this for me, so I didn't pay a dollar lol, She's great

I think the newer are actually a downgrade, since they no longer have the quantum dot panel in that them, instead they made a new line and jacked the price up and renamed to QLED to "compete" with OLED( or just make it look similar in name)

I did recently pick up a ks8500 65' at a best buy(about a month ago). So there still may be some ks8000 out there somewhere. I wasn't able to find an 8000 in my area, only a couple of 8500, so went with that.
